Ex-Thai PM Yingluck reports to coup makers

BANGKOK, May 23, 2014 (AFP) - Thailand's former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra reported to the kingdom's military junta on Friday, an aide said, after dozens of prominent figures were summoned in the wake of a coup.

Yingluck, who was ousted by the courts in a controversial ruling earlier this month, arrived at an army facility in Bangkok in her private bullet-proof vehicle, said Wim Rungwattanajinda.

NATIONAL PEACE AND ORDER MAINTAINING COUNCIL
Caretaker PM Niwutthamrong and ex-PM Yingluck report to NPOMC

BANGKOK: -- Dozens of politicians report on Friday to National Peace and Order Maintaining Council (NPOMC), including caretaker premier Niwutthamrong Boonsongpaisan and former premier Yingluck Shinawatra.

The move came a day after the military declared a coup when its effort to bring rival factions together to seek a solution to the country’s political impasse failed.

Caretaker premier Niwatthumrong Boonsongpaisan and former premier Yingluck Shinawatra were among the politicians reporting to NPOMC at the Royal Army Club. Reporters and cameramen were barred from entering the Royal Army Club, only those of army-run Channel 5 were permitted.

Niwattumrong’s car was seen arrivingat the Army Auditorium Friday morning, witnesses said.

Former premier Somchai Wongsawat and his wife; Yaowapa, also reported. Somchai is Yingluck’s brother in law.

She will have to answer a lot of questions now. And without being able to phone a brother friend.

Put the Shins in a chaingang and make them clean up the mess on Utthayan Road they caused. In fact, do that for both groups. Let them clean up their literal messes personally.

Must be a difficult decision what clothes fit for it.

I would say best is the white uniform.

I wounder if they summons he brother he turn himself in.

"in her private bullet-proof vehicle"

Finally taking the situation seriously, but too little and way too late. Visiting 100 temples and/or crying won't stop your "bad luck".

Did they arrest her?

But it appears she will have a lot of company: Gen Prayuth Chan-ocha summonsed 114 people believed to be significantly involved in political issues at the Army auditorium in Thewes, Bangkok, at 10am. /Bangkok Post

114 of them? I wonder where pipkins, Wandasloan, and OldBlueCodger are today?

I just wonder why she needs a bullet proof car .... and following some latest information I thought she left for Singapore ..... well let see what next ..

hmmm... was she told that she will be brought to a shopping center where she can get the newest fashion items in olive-green?

Let's hope there will be REAL tears today from the failed puppet .crying.gifcrying.gifcrying.gifcrying.gif

I hope she is provided a cute orange jump suit, fitted closely around the behind and pink handcuffs.

A tiny part of me does have some sympathy for her. It's a situation she probably never wanted to be in and had her arm twisted to make her stay. She must really be cursing Thaksin in her private thoughts, knowing he did all this to her and he meanwhile sits in luxury, probably guzzling champagne and caviar. But sympathy or no, she did sign on to things and her actions have come near to bankrupting the country, destroying its rice exporting market, and driven many to desperation or worse. I have much more sympathy for her victims, in the final run.

Credit must be given where credit is due. She showed up, which is something her brother could learn a thing or two about.

Hopefully NACC will do that before too long and if you don't know what for, you need to open your eyes and keep off the ear medicine.

Inspite of all the remarks about her here. She DID show up. I must say against all odds. I guess Prayuth has everyone rounded up right now. Now it is time to sit them down. Give them a harsh speech. Close the doors and for the good of the country, work out the differences, find common ground. He surely has a captive audience now!!!!

All these people being summoned ... are they allowed to decline? what happens if they just say "no thanks" ??

For running the rice scam, trying to whitewash a fugitive convicted criminal, trying the bankrupt the country by illegally passing a 2.2 trillion Baht loan......................You want a few other valid reasons ?
