posters' favourite pattaya-area courses

Featured Replies

Me and my friends from chiang mai have often talked about coming down for a few days to pattaya to play some courses there.

I'm looking for posters' recommendations for courses to play since i believe there are so many to choose from, way more than here in chiang mai. I'd much rather hear people's direct experiences rather than depend upon the blurb from course websites. I believe prices down pattaya way are much more reasonable than we have to bear here in chiang mai, no doubt because there is much more competition there to get our money!

It would be good also to hear

  • if the green fee for the course recommended is under 1000 baht, or in the 1000-2000 rangel; anything more is not in our budget
  • why the course is recommended
  • if prices are relevant for low or high season
  • and anything else that may be useful to know of

We're thinking about pattaya more than hua hin because i'm pretty sure it will be a cheaper golfing excursion.

Thanks in advance, and happy golfing everyone.

Hua Hin also has a golf festival in August September and it becomes a more attractive golf destination in terms of price

OP if you have a look here http://www.pattayasports.org/golf/ and go to "Monthly golf fees/rates" it will show you all the published costs for each course - green fee, caddy fee, cart fee and if cart mandatory etc.

The PSC rate can be had by joining and paying a relatively small fee and depending on how many times you plan to play can pay for itself very quickly. It also shows some previous months costs if you want to compare high and low season.

Everybody has a different view on courses and what they like, walk or buggy etc so I will let others make "recommendations" wink.png

As an aside I played 2 courses this week and it seemed like I was the only player on the course - but today especially very, very hot!

Nice link, thanks.

And it's very hot work up here in chiang mai too!

Best time of year to play golf for me, I can usually be in and out of the course in 3 hours and it's cheaper.
