Google maps - not in english

Featured Replies

I apologize if my question is in the wrong forum:

I check very often Google maps to get the coordinates for my navigator for a certain place. Lately most of the text is in Thai. Google assumes your location is Thailand, so you speak Thai. Where are the settings to change it permanently to English?

I learned by adding

/?hl=en

at the end of the link - display is partly in English. But the names of BTS is still in Thai. Anybody have the same problem, or know a solution?

Btw: I am using the classic Google Map version.

I've noticed this and am also using classic, but can offer not help. Maybe they're miffed and are retaliating because I tried the new version, didn't like it, and reverted to classic.

Google maps is rubbish compared to its competitors because it insists on displaying certain names in Thai script. Bing maps is much better.

I don't know if you have tried this already, but open a google account and obviously have the language settings to English. My google maps shows the names of roads in both English and Thai (vast majority in English) and I view it whilst signed in to my google account.

Hope this helps.
