astral Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 I am experimenting with my new Samsung UA50F6400 TV It says to turn off the glasses after use to save battery but does not say how to turn them off? Does anyone know how? I have downloaded a couple of films to experiment, Frankenstein and Tarzan The cartoon Tarzan gives a much better 3D effect but I still feel it is a gimic Wearing the glasses is irritating too. I do like the 50" screen after my old 40"
IMHO Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 Assuming these are the 600 Baht/pr kinda flimsy rectangular ones, with the watch battery inside and only a momentary-push gray rubber button on top of the frame, just to the right of center? If yes, there's 2 ways to turn them off: 1) Move about 8M away from the TV - bluetooth signal degrades, glasses turn off.. 2) Stop watching a 3D movie - TV drops bluetooth frame sync signal, glasses turn off.. Easy to test: Just start watching a 3D movie, pair the glasses, then go for a walk outside.. while they're on you'll see funky visual effects from sunlight.. walk far enough to break bluetooth range and you'll notice when they turn off
astral Posted June 8, 2014 Author Posted June 8, 2014 I can't say I am impressed with the 3D experience All rather a gimic IMHO and quite frankly the glasses give me a headache........ I ended up telling the set to convert 3D to 2D and watched much more comfortably that way Leaving the 3D aside, the set does give a stunning picture.
chris2004 Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Next time buy an LG with passive 3D, much easier.
astral Posted June 14, 2014 Author Posted June 14, 2014 But LG has been reported as stealing your browsing history without you permission. No Thanks
kevvy Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 I have the Mitsubishi 9000c 3d projector.I watched avatar in 3d , and waited a year for it to come out .The trouble is that when I took off my 3D glasses away from my face during the film I saw a bright image that did justice to the film. With the glasses on, I lost track of details in dark scenes. Films should not be hard to watch, you should not need to squintyour eyes and you certainly should not come away with an experience any less than director wanted just because the current trend is for 3D effects.

The only trouble is the software .There seems to be alot of problems. Getting 4K films on to disc looks like being harder with no official specification nailed down and no immediate plans there. There are reports have suggest that a triple layer 100GB is in production, which could find room for 4K films, but there has been no further information on this.
