Rock bottom minimum one room price range and location in Bangkok?

Featured Replies

- The WC is shared down the hall

- It makes flats Din Daeng look luxurious

- The neighbours are questionable characters

- The view is industrial

BUT...

a. It's so cheap you have paid 2 years in advance

b. It's a ten minute walk from BTS

c. 24 hour security (police. cameras, gangsters -you don 't care)

It's just a storage room with a superb steel gate.

It's still going to get burgled once people know it's yours, who you are, what they've seen you bring in, when you're gone, etc.

The 10 minute walk to the BTS will be the challenge I think.

Other than that I'd say 3,000 baht/month? For 5,000-ish you could probably find something less sketchy, but potentially more secure, if only because it is a bit more "public"?

Or are you offering up your property for rent?

The area between Din Daeng Flats and Ratchada is full of apartments in the 3000-5000 range and some of those are quite good actually and come with security, key card etc.

Those place will probably not rent to foreigners.

You can try though if you like. There are a few in the Makkasan area. Rooms the size of a prison cell, shared washroom and cooking facilities. Rent B1200-2000.

In the bowels of Pratunam under the shadows of Baiyoke sky and next to the train tracks are a few Thai style apartments that rents for around B3000 for fan rooms. These may rent to foreigners.

Couchsurfing is even cheaper, but you may have to overstay your welcome if you're looking for a 12 month place.
