Weekend trip heading towards Chanthaburi

Featured Replies

Can anyone recommend anywhere to stay for the weekend heading towards Chanthaburi, can be on the beach or not just want to see something different from where I am in Bangkok. Thanks.

Best to move this to the Eastern Forum for some local input

We stayed at a resort in the city (about $50 USD per night), but I forget the name (sorry not very helpful). I would definitely check out the beach areas, there are plenty of places to stay. Very relaxing.

Andy, do you have your own car or are you relying on public transport?

Are you after much night life?

Thoroughly recommend Laem Mae Phim - provided you're looking for peace and quiet, great seafood and plenty of accommodation options (take a google tour). Within easy reach of Bangkok (3 hours or so, depending on traffic). If you are not driving, catch a mini-bus at Victory Monument: leaving daily on the hour from 6am - 7pm: and it will drop you (and pick you up again on the return journey) at the door of your digs.

Chao Lao, Lam Ma Phimosis and Laem Sadet are all nice spots IMO

Thanks for the locations, any hotel or resort recommendations?

Laem Mae phim

Head for the Rayong Resort and stay on the beach road. You will see many places to stay.
