Wind turbine generator

Featured Replies

Hi just wondering if anyone has experience of purchasing a wind turbine either within Thailand or by import.

The price of those suitable for home use has come alot recently and I am considering installing one.

Are you sure you have enough consistent wind to make it worthwhile? Here in northern BKK (in open country) the wind is either far too strong and variable or non-existent.

Rangsit market have some turbines, I've never seen them actually rotating :(

I've had some initial discussions with the Aussie manufacturers of the Ecowhisper

Basically I just like this product. Don't know what Thai customs would make of it but have time to research that.

I'm at early feasibility stage - going to do at least 12 months wind monitoring on our land in Kalasin before that goes into a cost/benefit comparison with PV.

Interested to hear how you progress in the meantime.

Thanks for the quick replies.

It's just an idea right now as it seems we may have a buyer for our house so I am already thinking about our next build.

Thinking of fitting solar panels, a wind generator, with grid tie-in, and a solar water heater(which I plan to build myself).

Maybe consider a battery bank too but my 'sensible' head tells me that a small petrol/diesel generator is the way to go come the inevitable power cuts.
