Surin is speeding up to assist its six drought-stricken districts

Surin (สุรินทร์) Province is speeding up to assist its six districts which have been suffering from the drought crisis since last year.

The Head of Surin Agriculture Office, Mr. Peerawat Sabknoi (พีระวัฒน์ สังข์น้อย), revealed that drought has damaged 160,034 rai of agriculture areas, and 16,827 farmers have eventually suffered from the calamity. He said that the relief effort has reached 3 drought-stricken districts, and 2,893 farmers have already been assisted. The financial aid for this assistance is worth two million baht.

He informed that the Department of Agriculture Extension has now approved a budget of 34,299,963 baht to aid the three remaining drought-stricken districts.

He has affirmed that every farmer will receive the assistance within September.
