Not looking forward to watching this game. I think the Aussies are going to get smashed.

Following their incredible 5-1 win over world champions Spain, the Netherlands have gone from unfancied 'nearly-men' to firm tournament favourites. Perhaps the biggest problem for Louis Van Gaal's men is to manage the new expectation brought about from the victory against Spain.

Going into this game, the Dutch have no injury concerns but Van Gaal has hinted that he may revert to his favoured 4-3-3 formation, despite lining up in a 3-5-2 against Spain. Holland's talismanic striker Robin Van Persie is one of 3 Dutch players who is one booking away from a ban.

Australia go into this game on the back of a defeat to Chile. Depsite this, Aussie forward Matthew Leckie has spoken of his belief that the Socceroos have what it take to shock Holland.

Netherlands should have enough to overcome Australia in this one. Expect a dogged performance from Aussie, with Holland running out 2-0 winners.

Share you predictions and pre-math thoughts below.

Being Dutch and knowing them, the Dutch will overestimate themselves and underestimate a team they have played 3 times and didn't win one yet....

The hallelujah from the first game should be analyzed after the second game of the Spaniards. If they loose again we might have to review how good the Dutch really are.....

But I will be watching in anticipation of a thorough thrashing of the Soccerroos.....hup Hollland hup, laat de leeuw niet in zijn hempje staan!!!

Ummmmmm....really gentlemen....we might just get a whiff of a dutch mans deodorant,,,,just might.

Holland 1-0 Australia. Australia will fire up but Holland to good in the end.

Expect Australia to park the proverbial bus and frustrate Holland to a scoreless game.

Australia need a win, Holland doesn't.

A draw in this game would be the same as a win for Australia.

Our only hope this game is to throw caution to the wind and make attack our defense. We don't have the goal scoring options for that really anyway.

Expect a thrashing. 4-0, 5-1 to the Dutch

Come on Aussie.

Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oi Oi Oi !

Maybe the Dutch will get a case of the runs, Bali belly :P

10-0 to the Dutch

Only chance to score for the Aussie is to break on a counter attack. Think they will go 4-5-1 and use the middle fielders as a defence buffer and also attack if chance break for counter.

This looks to be the biggest woopong of the WC ... 8 or 9 zip

2-1 to Australia. The Orange think they're better than they are. Tim Cahill for another one.

Realistically Australia are playing for pride. Like nearly all I expect a Dutch victory with a much lower performance than against Spain. They will have bigger fish to fry later on in the tournament.

Very impressed with Australi's first game, everyone thought they would get hammered, think a win for holland here but not an easy one, they will be pacing themselves for Chile.

As a passionate Aussie......all I know is that we go for the underdogs.....and judging by the reviews....the green and gold are the underdogs.

So long as there are not too many hollywood acting auditions, I am staying up to watch the match. As you can guess I am not a big fan of the round ball played with the foot, I more prefer the oval ball.....anyway, go the Aussies, and may the underdogs wave the flag.

Cheers.

Comes down to how seriously the Dutch take it. If they go for it, they could get double figures.

Anyone know what happens with yellow cards in later rounds? Do they get scrubbed after the group stages.

I see that 2/3 Dutch players are on a yellow - in particular RVP.

Could we see a few 'doing a Beckham' given the right circumstances?

3-0 or 4-1 to the Netherlands.

Looks like the Australian team are using their "macho" tactics though, so maybe Netherlands will just be happy to get through the match without too many injuries...

Cahill scored one of the goals of the tournament.

Then gets a yellow and misses the Spain game.

The injury to the Dutch player appears serious. Hopefully the brace, etc was just a precaution.
