Italy vs Costa Rica - Fri 20 June, 11:00 pm, - Match Thread

This game will be of big interest to England fans, as Roy Hodgson's side will be knocked out of the tournament if Costa Rica manage to avoid defeat against Italy sad.png

However, if Italy win and then beat Uruguay in their final group game then England can still make it to the last 16 IF they can beat Costa Rica.

Costa Rica go into this match expecting to name an unchanged line up, with Arsenal's Joel Campbell the one to watch for them.

Italy's major concern going into this game is not from the playing squad but from the conditions at the lunchtime kick off in Recife.

Italy coach Prandelli has spoken publicly that he believes Costa Rica will have an advantage over the Italians as they will be much more use to the conditions.

That said, Italy should have enough to Costa Rica.

As always, Italy's conductor in midfield, Andrea Pirlo, to be pulling the strings for the Azzuri.

If there are any Italian squad members looking in this Englishman would just like to say what a great country Italy is, that your women are the most beautiful in the world and I hope you win handsomely tonight. thumbsup.gif

There is justice!

Stonewall penalty not given to CR, followed by a goal-line technology goal. 1-0 to CR.

England slipping away....

Whatever Italy and Uruguay does, wouldn't it be the icing on the cake see the English get asshanded by Costa Rica?

Agree it was clearly over the line, but, given the ref 's performance so far, do you really think he would have given the goal without GT?

I will be very surprised if Italy don't score a goal here. If cr win, then suddenly Italy is in a must win situation next.

And its all Rooneys fault. The rest played excellent.

Rooney, Woy and the FA.

Let's get on with qualifying for the Euros - that's if all of the above can manage it.
