Waves!

Featured Replies

It's surfing season on Phuket... so where are all the good waves? Have heard Nai Harn pumps as usual, but where are the other 'breaks' happening? :o

Nai Harn appears to put up some minor waves but from looking yesterday the sweel direction would need to be much more from the west / NW to create any kind of point break.. What I saw was just flat close outs with no direction.

Kalim is known to be usable on the northern side..

Kata is reccomended but I have never seen it working right..

With my brother living in Bali it kinda makes Phuket waves sort of laughable..

for me this is the one thing that Thailand beaches are missing...waves... One can only swim and snorkel for so long. Oh to be able to buggy board (or surf) in LOS. I tried at Kata Noi once, it was frustrating.

Is there any place in Thailand that is decent and what time of the year do you recommend?

Kata and Kata Noi Beaches. Speak to the guys from Da's Surf (Da himself and Chris his Kiwi brother - in - law) located directly on the southern end Of Kata Beach in front of The Boathouse. They know exactly where to surf when. They are also involved with arranging surfing trips to Indo etc.
