Songkhla blanketed in smoke due to Indonesian forest fires

SONGKHLA, 27 June 2014 (NNT) - Smoke from forest fires in Indonesia have started to cover Song Khla, especially over the sea, mountains and town. It is not posing any health risk so far, but Songkhla's Disease Control and Prevention Office 16 is watching the situation closely.

AMLO to impound assets of VAT fraud suspect

BANGKOK: -- Officials from the Anti Money Laundering Office raided four properties in Bangkok and Nakhon Ratchasima of a suspect in connection with the four billion baht value added tax (VAT) refund fraud in the bid yo impound all the properties for probe of their sources of funds.

Plodprasob the richest among ex-cabinet members : anti-graft agency

The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) announced Friday that former deputy prime minister Plodprasop Suraswadi was the richest person in the previous government followed by ex-prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra.

Public Health Min. imposes 85% warning on surface areas of cigarette packages

BANGKOK, 27 June 2014 (NNT) – The Public Health Ministry has announced to impose graphical warnings that cover 85% on the surface area of cigarette packages in order to raise awareness to the public about the serious risks of smoking.

AoT estimates an increase in passengers; promises 2nd phase of Suvarnabhumi airport

BANGKOK, 27 June 2014 (NNT) - The Airports of Thailand (AoT) managing director estimates that the number of passengers and flights in the fiscal year 2014 is likely to increase by about 4.2% while reaffirming action on the second phase of Suvarnnabhumi International Airport as planned.
