Can anyone suggest a website with listings of these types of accommodations in Chiang Rai? I found one site, but it only listed houses. I'd prefer a condotel or similar. Any ideas? I'd like to stay under 25,000 tb/month, and way under would be great.

For a long time, Chiang Rai's Condotel was the only place which sold apartments to farang. It may still be that same scenario, I don't know. You would think some Thai business people would build some units to suit farang.

The Condotel's rooms are like a hotel rooms, but a bit larger and sparser. tiny porches, no kitchens, I heard some Condotelers are buying 2 units side-by-side and joining them. The pool there doesn't have seats, or one umbrella. The management stopped spending 30 baht/day for one Eng.lang newspaper to put in the lobby. Minimal, with a capital M.
