My Thai wife has permission to reside in Germany whilst I am here (am British), I know she can go back to the UK with me and we do not have to worry about all the stuff required for settlement visas, but the question is what is the process involved to ensuring she can stay permanently, is there other things I need to be aware of?

How about gaining British Citizenship for her, etc?

She would apply for an EEA family permit using the 'Surinder Singh' route.

After living in the UK for 5 years she can apply for permanent residence.

She cannot apply for citizenship until, among other requirements, she has no time limit on her stay in the UK; in this case PR.

Usually, unless the spouse or civil partner of a British citizens, people need to have had no time limit on their stay in the UK for at least 1 year before they can apply; making a total of at least 6 years living in the UK.

However, you are a British citizen; so I am fairly sure that even though she used the EEA regulations to enter the UK, this would not apply to her.

Surely the topic title and OP make it clear that they live together in Germany?

Or maybe it's only clear to me as I know from Beano's past posts that this is so?
