Settlement-Fiance

Fiance or Proposed civil partner.

Fiance is where sponsor and applicant are of different sexes, proposed civil partner is when they are the same sex.
The visa lasts for 6 months and during this time the holder enters the UK. They and their sponsor marry or register their civil partnership, as appropriate, and the Thai partner then applies, and pays for, a 30 month extension known as Further Leave to Remain. At the end the FLR They apply for a further 30 months and after that they can apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain.

Is it the best route to settlement in the UK? as the extra step in the settlement visa will prove very costly, recent topic on this. http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/745863-marry-in-thailand-or-uk/

Does this mean you are marrying in the UK but not settling in the UK after the marriage?

Or you are marrying in the Uk and then settling here?

If the former, she needs a marriage visit visa, although she can also get married if in the UK with a general visit visa.

If the latter, then it's settlement- fiance.

Settlement- marriage is for spouses.

its the latter.... she intends on coming here marrying then staying here. i thought settlement-fiance too. but shes adamant its settlement-marriage. when selecting the visa it gave no option of settlement-fiance? otherwise i would of ignored her and selected settlement-fiance. and the visa is done, paid(ouch), printed out and will be submitted monday.
