sell furniture at weekly flea-market at Prince Royal's College

I am curious to know if you have ever observed people selling large items, like furniture, there.

The reason I ask is that I have to move-house after several years renting the same nice house, and I may need to sell some, or a lot of, my furniture, depending on the new digs I find.

I am allergic to the thought of posting classified ads, and having to spend time on the phone with people, and then having to arrange their visit to my house, etc., dealing with some folks who may turn out to be tire-kickers, or make insanely low-ball offers.

Common sense suggests, however, that selling through classified ads is probably the best way to sell second-hand, good-quality, home furnishings.

So, I thought of maybe selling at the flea-market at Prince Royal's School, but, I've never been to it.

Hence, this request for advice, ideas.

thanks, ~o:37;

The spaces seem to be occupied by regular vendors week after week. The spaces are also rather small and mostly small items offered. That does not mean it is impossible, best to take a look and enquire.

I go there quite regularly and I would have thought no.

Apart from the place is probably booked out what they sell might best be classed as junk or old, or odds and ends

You do not get for example beds, fridges, sofas, current televisions etc....closest might be old teak stuff small bookcases and the like. Its not the sort of place where people pay top )or even semi decent) dollar for anything either.

Like Daoyai suggests maybe take a wander down there anyway....perhaps one of the existing stall holders would be willing to collect and pay for your stuff and then on sell (lesser price but less aggravation)? or list as a job lot on Bahtsold or the CMC Newsletter even better?

"Seconhand chiang mai" Facebook group seems to be a good way to sell furniture. Lots of people leaving selling all sorts and lots of people arriving needing stuff. Note the spelling , no D in seconhand.

But if you spell it correctly "with a d" then you will get on a wider advertised fb page.

Actually a friend of mine saw this opportunity to create the correct page through someone being very careless.

Secondhand chiangmai

Same same but......you know the rest.

I will have to check that other one out. It might be a better group. The one I am in seems to fill my phone with enough secondhand stuff, there's only so much I can take and when I see something interesting I am normally about 3 hours too late to buy.

Many thanks for all the suggestions; in the clear light of day, the idea of selling furniture at that flea-market seems rather dumb.

I may have to find a way to use FaceBook anonymously for a brief period of time (I consider it, and its ilk, digital versions of psychic plague, and flesh-eating bacteria).

Besides the second hand groups on facebook, you may want to advertise on the Chiang Mai Christian Church Newsletter--it is sent out once a week (on a Friday) to those who subscribe to it--and is geared to a western audience. I have had excellent response to selling household items on this mailout.

Not so... The latest ad there on 'seconDhand chiangmai' is just now dated 28 May, and has been the same for ages. Not same same!

Your friend needs to kickstart his so-called opportunity; in the meantime I'll (we'll) stick to the functioning ever evolving "Seconhand chiang mai".

Hope I'm not too far off topic. Like the OP I detest the very idea of being on facebook, do I have to sign up to view the ads? Probably a dumb question but I really don't know.

Not sure where you are looking, but the last item was 33 mins ago and about 100 since your date!

I will spell it for you

SECONDHAND CHIANGMAI

then there is chiangmai buy sell swap

If you have those two liked then you are cooking with gas.
