Morning,
I've just returned from a 3 week holiday in Thailand with my wife and 3 month old son. (wife is Thai and has IRL)
My wife and son are returning in a months time as she is on maternity leave from work in the UK and has time to be with her parents.
Basically as she is travelling back without me will she have any problems? I have photocopied my son's full birth certificates (UK and Thai) and wrote a letter stating she can travel with him back to me in the UK.
Maybe I'm just worrying but I know there are issues with one patent travelling with an infant.
Anyone have experience of this?
Kind regards

Passport? I would have thought that's all you need if you're going that way.

People have had problems with Thai immigration when taking children out of the kingdom without the other parent; but this is usually fathers, not mothers.

With the documents you mention, if she is questioned by Thai immigration she should not have a problem; though you may want to include a copy of your passport as well.

I trust your son has both a British and Thai passport and will use his Thai passport to enter and leave Thailand and his British passport to enter and leave the UK.

Though when checking in the airline may want to see both so they know he has permission to enter at the other end.

Just very recently left Thailand for a short trip out of the country, self, wife and  4+ year old son, at immigration wife and son were side-tracked thru another channel from myself - and son was quizzed by immigration after  mother was asked to remain quiet - where are you going - who are you going with - seems they are now pretty thorough about letting kids out of the country without any checks.

I agree with the above - make sure your wife has all the likely documentation on hand.

Many thanks for all replies.
Yes he has both Thai and UK passports plus the documents mentioned previously, but not a photocopy of my passport, good point, thanks.
I thought I'd covered it all but will sort that out.
Many thanks
