Alas not all bookmarks will import so be careful you may have to manually enter and add.

Not denying your findings Brit_Doggie, but you may have an odd set-up, because on every PC I've imported Windows bookmarks into Chrome, they have always all imported correctly.

 

That's from Windows XP IE 9 and Chrome 2x right up to Windows 7, IE 11 and Chrome 36. I say this because I do it on all my home PCs (4 at present) and whatever PCs I'm using at work.
