Travelling to Malaysia with dual passports

Featured Replies

I'm here on a British passport with an ED visa. It expires in a few months and I am thinking about getting a new ED visa on my South African passport. If I were to fly out of Thailand and enter Malaysia on a brand new, empty South African passport - would that be a problem? Anyone have any experience with a situation like this? Thanks in advance.

Leaving Thailand you have to use the passport you entered on, (exceptions, say lost or stolen passport but then you need a lot of form filling).

As far as entering Malaysia goes I should not see any reason why you could not use your SA passport, I assume you would not be stamped out of SA, even if they knew which plane you got off they would not know you had not been transiting through BKK, if any problems just show the your British passport.

I am sure there would be no problems.
