As my wife will now have to sit this test as her Bulats A1 Certificate will not be accepted for her settlement visa application from 22.8.14 can anyone explain what score she will require to receive a pass in the "Listening and Speaking" sections? I understand that there are 56 questions in the reading and writing part of the exam which account for 50%of the exam marks. I also know a pass in these sections is not necessary for the visa itself. The listening and speaking sections account for 25% each i believe. How many points would she require in these sections to receive a pass?

Also if she is successful i do not want to wait for her certificate to arrive before submitting her visa application and will print off her online results two weeks after she has taken the test and submit that with the application. Would there be any problems with this? These can be independently verified by an outside organization i understand.

Thanks in advance

My GF sat the test a few weeks ago. Results are available online after 2 weeks. It's an overall pass rate, for level A2 you need 70/100. This satisfies spouse visa requirement. My GF achieved 90/100, which is level B2, and will satisfy ILR in a few years time.

Thanks for the reply...i am aware that a general pass for an A1 on KET is between 45-69 points..anything less is a fail.....however 56 of the reading and writing questions account for 50% of the exam..the listening and speaking part of the exam accounts for 25% equally....i understand that it does not matter ( for visa purposes) what she scores on this part of the exam..however i am still not sure what scores she needs to get on listening and speaking to qualify for an A1 pass...i am assuming it will be 11/12% out of each 25% element...

Cheers...
