My daughter and friend thinking of heading down there for a quiet relaxing time, just want beaches and good food, a bar would be nice. Any recommendations on good places to stay/visit/eat etc ? Read the Bang Saphan info guide but always good to get up to date info. Current weather ? Thanks.

Bangkrud is better than Bangsapan because the latter lacks any good restaurants and is pretty dead. Bangkrud has some nice Hotels good food a great Italian rstaurant and a lovely beach. Sea very calm and clear at this time of the year. The best Hotel is I think called Arcadia. Excellent food and a nice pool. Room prices differ a lot with the annexe in the back cheaper. The poolside rooms are really nice but a little pricey. Ther are good Thai seafood restaurants too right on the beach

Thanks gamini, that was the sort of info I wanted. She will check out the Arcadia, as she is going midweek and speaks Thai she may be able to bargain down the poolside rooms a bit
