In the middle of applying for my husband's family visit visa. Just a quick question and hope someone can offer me guidance. When I write my letter to the entry clearance officer should it include my husbands intentions to return to the his home country to apply for a settlement visa after he has been in the Uk for five months and how we intend to go about this. Or would this go against him getting the visa. I don't really know and just need a bit of guidance. We want to be together for as long as we can, tht is why we are initially get a visit visa while I will be looking for a job and working so we can then apply for a settlement visa. Thanks. Hope someone can help

I would include your future plans together in your sponsor's letter.

But stress that you both know he cannot remain in the UK at the end of his visit and will have to return home to apply for settlement.

You should also say why he is only applying for a visit at this time, not settlement.

You may find UK visit visa basics helpful.
