Help with L.G. television picture size fault please.

Featured Replies

The picture on my 42 inch plasma is to large for the screen width and height, it was fine at night when I turned it off, then the next morning on Thai channel 7 news there were 3 news readers sat at the desk talking but I could only see 2-1/2 news readers. The volume bar and CTH menu are not visible l at the bottom of the screen. Also when watching the Premier League you cannot see all the play in the game. As anyone else had this problem or knows how I can fix it? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you Nigel.

Have you tried turning your box off (or unplug it) and let reset to the TV again. Believe if using HDMI cable it may have to talk with TV for size (but that is just a guess - on/off is easy first step however).

Check the Zoom function on TV and Sat box also try switching to/from 4.3 ( standard ) to 16.9 ( widescreen )

Google "Overscan" and have a look at the solutions offered. I think this might be the problem. It's not uncommon, especially in Standard mode. You could also check the service manual, which should cover overscan.

There should be a setting to turn it off but that might be in the service menu and I don't know if you have access. If you don't, you might need to call in a technician. Once it's turned off you should have no further problems.

You need the two boxes to have compatible settings.

All my sat/media boxes are set to 16:9 and so are the TV's.
