What would you choose for your fantasy last meal on death row?

The question is clear.

Suppose you are on death row and your time is up.

The prison warden offers you your last meal, ANYTHING you want.

What foods would you choose? Why those foods? Any THAI food?

Anything at all.

In real life, prisons that still do this don't actually have to capability of offering anything.

But this is just for fun ... so really ... anything.

Stop being morbid JT.

Never intend to kill anybody or go on death row.

So your question is totally irrelevant to me.

Jesus Christ........what can people think of.............

OK, funny ...

but ...

It's got to be in the jail.

So it's not really about the setting, it will be in jail, but the specific FOODS?

Kay?

Steak and baked potato with melted cheese.

Me too, but sour cream on the baked potato and home made lemon meringue pie. The only problem is, I doubt if I would enjoy it, as I would be worrying about the upcoming execution.

1 Pate and toast.

2.Fillet steak, (medium rare) onion rings, homemade french fries, grilled tomatoes, mushrooms sauteed in butter.

3 New York Cheesecake and fresh cream.

I haven't finalized this yet but I know I want to go more international variety tapas style. Like 10 different ones.

For me, its comfort food, not a time for trying something new or different.

Good one, but for me the problem with comfort food is that most of it is season dependent, for example fresh asparagus. So it all depends when the date for the "last" meal has been set

I don't mean trying anything new. Just lots of small plates with variety of some of my all time favorites. It's even hard to narrow it to 10.

You have mo need to just get your post count up.

In the spirit of JT's OP I would say@-

L'escargot

Pate de Foie Gras

Limon Sorbet

Beef Wellington

Spotted Dick

Amaretto liquer

Coffee

Cognac

Port

I need more time to think about the accompanying wines

A Cornish Pasty, A decent cheeseboard and a Cornish Cream tea, washed down with pint of Tribute. No need to worry about the calories at that point.

yeah...like I'm really gonna fantasize about death row...one fantasizes about Marilyn Monroe, not about execution...

but...in the spirit of the thread (and this thread is a repeat) I like what the prisoner in the movie the Green Mile is having: meat loaf, mashed potatoes with gravy and corn bread...

You're still sore about the toaster. It's just for fun. I think anyone who loves food should be able to relate.

OK, this is just too hard.

Since I started this, I guess I have to bite the bullet and come up with a list.

I could easily list hundreds of wishes ... but as said, got it down to 10 "small" tapas style plates plus a dessert plate.

I am surprised that this list is mostly American or Mexican food, memory food from childhood and different phases of my life.

No Thai food. One Chinese dish. Interesting because in real life Chinese food is my favorite. Also mostly not spicy food. In real life, mostly spicy food. I can see a big gap here, an INDIAN dish, but I just couldn't think of ONE specific Indian dish to include ... oh well.

All the ingredients and chefs would need to be world class of course.

Wine or beer paired for each course by a Master Sommelier

Sorbet for palate cleansing between plates

In no particular order:

Best quality Caviar served traditionally with best quality vodka
Mini Mexican Chicken thigh with Spicy thick Dark Chocolate mole sauce, Mexican rice, refried beans, spicy fresh salsa
Fresh Maryland Crab Meat sauteed in a pan with lots of butter
New England fat bellied clams fried, served w/ tartar sauce
Mini Mission district carnitas burrito with everything, but no cheese or sour cream, lots of spicy salsa and guacamole
Mini Italian American style beef, spinach, and ricotta cheese lasagna, LOTS of garlic (no bechamel)
Mini Chinese clay pot dish with large fresh oysters and pork belly (rice)
Nova Lox served on 1/2 New York poppyseed bagel, cream cheese, sliced onion, sliced tomato
Mini Black seafood and sausage paella (made with squid ink)
HAMACHI sashimi plate
Dessert plate ... French Grand Marnier Soufflé served with Ben and Jerry's Cherry Garcia ice cream
