Six provinces still flood affected

BANGKOK, 18 September 2014 (NNT) –The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation has reported that six provinces are still flooded; they are Prachin Buri, Ranong, Sukhothai, Pitsanulok, Phichit, and Ayutthaya. The Department immediately provided help to those affected.

The continuous rain from 15th to 17th September caused floods in two provinces: Prachin Buri and Ranong. The situation in Prachin Buri will be mostly back to normal within a few days if there’s no further heavy rain, while flooding in Ranong Province has now eased.

Meanwhile, water levels in Sukhothai, Phichit, and Phitsanulok are reduced except in some agricultural low lands.

The water level in the Chao Phraya River has increased and over flowed into Ayutthaya Province in two districts and eight sub-districts.
However, the authorities instantly provided assistance to 1,062 victims in 50 villages and checked for damage. Those affected by flood can contact hotline 1784 around the clock.
