House renovation - need workers

Featured Replies

Looking for leads on workers for house renovations. Project needs

- gypsum wall construction

- doors

- flooring

- old ceiling/wall/flooring removal

- electrical wiring replaced

- toilet/shower additions

- painting

This project will probably take 3-4 weeks and cost 250,000~300,000. Any leads on any part of this would be helpful.

Thanks!!

Is the house in Thailand?

Edit to add, it sounds quite extensive? Almost like a gut the house, and rebuild the whole thing. I think your time frame is way out by your description.

If a Thai tells you it will take them 6 months to complete something, double it.

When a job is taking longer than expect, (99% of the time) under thai logic its best to send less workers and start a new job.

Don't tell someone how long it takes to complete, unless you've done it before.

Ah, right. I've had 5 contractors over and the most details one said 2 weeks. I think 3-4!

My neighbor went through 5 contractors to get her extension complete.

Easier to get the job done ya self :D

This is just a thought, I have had a house built, lots of other building work, extensions, car port, extra rooms, even a small house etc, and never had a problem. Could it be this is because I live in a village, and everyone one knows all the guys who do that sort of work and they know their reputation is at stake. I know that goes against Thai logic, but I can't think of anything else.

Could try bangkok home services.

Company owned and run by an englishman called david.

Possibly more than a local Thai but would recommend you at least get a figure from them to compare.

no affiliation with them , have just seen some of there completed jobs.

And there is the other side, be there when they are working. some do try it on. as the same in any other country before i am accused of Thai bashing.

There was always somebody there when the work was being done, I have heard of people trying it on, but as I say, I have always been happy with their work. The house was built about eight years ago, and a lot of improvements since then, there has never been any comeback.
