thai20144
I see a lot of Expats enjoying the recent crackdown on Tourist/ED visa, and think a lot of them may even have sent complains to the Thai Immigration about Visa runners, people working on Tourist visas etc. What's their problem with these folk as its not their country? I would say (Mai Phen Rai)never mind. Recently I seen a post were a guy studies Thai at a Thai school but doesn't attend class all the time, and a long term TV member here commented "I would love to know the name of that school" (so he could report them for some sick satisfaction) So what's your opinion on this matter would you report about Expats that don't have the correct paperwork or are using the visa system incorrectly? If you would, why?
Popular Post stevenl
people working on Tourist visas etc. Since I am working legally here, including paying taxes, and paying a lot of money for that, I do mind others working on tourist visa and not having those expenses. That is really unfair competition.

Popular Post MJCM
The guys who are doing things legit at Immigration usually have to suffer because of the guys who are abusing the system, and that's IMHO the reason why they are complaining. Just read this thread, about a Guy who wants to get married to a girl just for a Visa. http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/762267-am-i-eligible-for-a-non-imm-o-marriage-visa/

Plus it will be a troll magnet and will evolve of being just bickering between members. With a friend like you......who needs enemies ? Who said they were his friends.... If you are actually working illegally for a Thai company in Thailand -- you have to expect someone somewhere will take offense to it and report you. If they were really serious about cracking down, all it takes is to make the employers risks too high to take a chance (i.e. massive fines; corporate termination; etc.). Going after the workers but not targeting the companies does not make sense. Edited September 26, 2014 by cacruden
J Bradley
With a friend like you......who needs enemies ? A guy might be living and working in Thailand illegally, but chances are he's supporting (or supporting in part) a Thai family. Some criminals (eg, boiler room bosses) support a vast network of parasites and hangers on. Depriving Thais of this support is a recipe for trouble. It's best to turn a blind eye and keep your mouth shut. If you can't accept the presence of foreign criminals in Thailand, go somewhere else.

Popular Post Aussieroaming
To be honest I've gone through the hoops to get visas because my wife and I don't want illegal hassle and also the process isn't really that hard. Would I like to do bother people in who don't play the rules...no way. It isn't my business and who would I be to assume why others dodge visas. I don't condone illegal entry or work in Thailand, I just don't think I'm the right person to complain to the authorities. My suggestion is please follow protocol and do the right thing..however the option is yours to make not mine.
Popular Post Timwin
They are just bitter, living mentally in-between expat bubble world, stuck between two different cultures. Many of them have burned bridges with their families and friends back at home country. They have that literal law&order weird attitude which is not very compatible with the Thai culture. It is very ironic because they do not know a thing how Thais themselves use laws. It crime matters it almost always involves a large family negotiating with either the police or with the other family and money exchanging hands. Many times the police is not even involved and families settle things by themselves. Edited September 26, 2014 by Timwin

Popular Post Cypress Hill
Nothing to do with illegality and everything to do with some people desperate to feel special/privileged/elitist in SOME way at least after a life of crushing mediocrity. For them, something as mundane and ordinary as having a visa based on retirement, marriage or work is a towering achievement that serves to elevate them to rock star status among the trouts at the local beer bar. Woe betide you if you're legal and under 45 Seriously, they deserve our pity, not our scorn

Ha ha yeah it does seem that way at times round here. Guys thinking they are special because they happened to have been born 55+ years ago and instantly qualify for a retirement visa or because they fell in 'love' (*ahem*) with a Thai women. Anyone who is not them is told they aren't welcome or accused of being up to no good / a problem for Thailand.
