Pretty sure I saw some at Villa Market at the new Place on the corner of Naradihwas and Ratchadapisek the other week. The area is called 'The Up' or something similar.. Just a few hundred metres from Central.

Also and obviously like you I really love a good pizza. However if you buy a base here and then pay over the top for farang ingredients how would you justify it. I can buy a great pizza for abt 300 baht and it would probably cost me more to buy a base and try and buy ingredients in big c or tops.

If you have a good answer your that I'll go halves in a pizza business with you :)

foodland has it...not bad but with a lot butter inside.

Butter doesn't taste good in Pizza.

I make the Pizzas myself, approx. double than I can eat and deep freeze the complete Pizza. Better than by the base.

But don't know the Macro version.

where can you buy a great Pizza for 300?

Ok there might be a few great Italian owned places in downtown BKK but a bit outside?

Make your own bases..not meant to have a go at you, I just think the bases are easy to make and you can then forget the stress of looking for them. Cheaper and empowering.

Would have to agree with this. Most frozen pizza bases I have tried are crap. I have actually seen pizza base flour in Big C, just add water and any flavoring you may fancy.

Thanks for all the advice guys, comprehensive, will try to see what to do next!

It is just that I do not like the toppings here, tomato base is too sweet so I like to make my own and I prefer to mix the mozarella with a strong cheddar

at about 70/30 to get more body to the taste. I also like to make the garlic and cheese bread with a thick-ish base so I am not able to satisfy my cravings from a restaurant.

Pizza factory is absolute garbage, imho and there are very few pizza huts, who dop make a half decent pizza.

I am particularly interested in the pizza flour and add water so I will see if my local BigC has it.

Thanks again and oh so far as starting any kind of business in Thailand is concerned...NO !!!! Been there, done that, lost millions, thank you BiB !

I buy a base from foodland; about 30 baht; about 30-50 baht worth of cheese (many different kinds to choose from) a few baht worth of pizza sauce and then whatever you put on top.

Probably costs about 1-150 baht for a pie:)

Since you live in the Min Buri area, try this place: It's called Delizia and is located in Ramkhamhaeng Soi 164. They have a wood fired oven and make fresh pizza, also to go. Special prices on Wednesday.

If I remember correctly, the normal Margherita (no extra toppings) is THB 270.00

I use Mutti or Pomi tomatoes. I prefer the whole tomatoes (deseeded) , not the sauce or paste.

Fry some garlic in nice olive oil, add tomatoes, season with salt & pepper. A grated carrot or some sugar if its too sour. Done in 15 minutes.

Splash it on some homemade dough, cheese, basil. Drizzle with quality olive oil.

A black 'granite' stone preheated 1 hour in the oven is the trick.
