webfact Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Thailand eyeing to attract 20,000 Brunei touristsBANGKOK: -- The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is expecting to get about 20,000 Bruneian tourists this year, or over 40 percent more than last year’s 14,000 tourist arrivals, according to The Brunei Times.TAT Assistant Director Worapon Sudaporn said most of the Bruneians go to Bangkok and Pattaya to shop, eat and visit tourist spots. She said most shoppers visit Bangkok’s malls as they offer a variety of products at reasonable prices.Worapon is also encouraging Bruneians to visit other places like HuaHin and Chiang Mai which are more quiet and peaceful.“HuaHin, which is a seaside place, is a popular destination among the locals. Bruneians should go there as there are not many tourists there unlike in Pattaya,” she said. Worapon said that that HuaHin is three hours away from Bangkok and also offers the same facilities such as shopping centres and hotels. She noted that the decrease in the number of tourists from November last year was due to economic crises and political protests. She said that with the upcoming Loi Krathong festival during the full moon in early November, more tourists are expected to arrive into Thailand later this year. zydeco Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 And Hua Hin is to be developed into some sort of muslim tourism destination? Separate from the Russians and Germans and British at Pattaya? 1
Popular Post halloween Posted September 30, 2014 Popular Post Posted September 30, 2014 It seems what most muslims on holiday want is a holiday from being muslim. 10

Fab5BKK Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Where are the mega commercial centers in Hua Hin?
upena Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 According to the official Department of Tourism numbers (so they have to be true) - foreign tourist arrivals from Brunei are down 32.96% Jan - Aug compared to same time last year (6,044 arrivals) and down 17.56% for Aug 2014 compared to Aug 2013 (798 arrivals). Good luck hitting 20K 1
masuk Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 It seems what most muslims on holiday want is a holiday from being muslim. Didn't Brunei recently announce Sharia law? I'd have thought that Thailand would be the last place they'd want to visit, with the death penalty for indulging in activities which are considered fairly common in Thailand. 1
robertthebruce Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Oh well the Lady Boys will be busy.....
soalbundy Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 stop raping and killing the tourists that you have would be a good start.
Deli Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Send them to Pattani and they will feel comfortable and like home. All the rest of the country should be tabu for them, as they follow another system...
JOC Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Well the choice between Sharia-law and Thai hookers should be an easy one!! 2
dominique355 Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Now that Shariya law has been introduced in Brunei are its citizens allowed to visit Buddhist temples? Or will they be executed upon their return? 1
Popular Post Gunna Posted September 30, 2014 Popular Post Posted September 30, 2014 With regard to the punishment of the drinker in this world, the punishment is flogging, according to the consensus of the fuqaha’, because of the report narrated by Muslim (3281) from Anas (may Allaah be pleased with him), who said that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) flogged the one who had drunk wine with palm branches stripped of their leaves and with shoes. But there is some difference of opinion as to the number of lashes. The majority of scholars are of the view that it is eighty lashes for a free man and forty for others Assuming they don't bring any slaves or their wives, then there could be up to 1,600,000 lashes given next year when the blokes from Brunei return home, and that's just for alcohol, then add 100 lashes each for adultery and there won't be enough branches left in Brunei for 2016 punishments 5

Popular Post cbluck58 Posted September 30, 2014 Popular Post Posted September 30, 2014 It is neither cheap nor racist to identify and comment on the truth and the truth is that nearly all th muslim tourists that come to LOS , come here to indulge a life style that is prohibited in their home. Since we are constantly told that the rest of the world has to respect their beliefs and dogma then we should not be actively encouraging them to holiday in places where they can be tempted to disrespect their own religion and where we can be accused of corrupting their beliefs. It is quite simple and not just for the people of Brunei, but to all muslim countries - don't come to LOS if you are serious about Islam because you won't like it. If you do come, do not play on your religion to gain special considerations one minute and flout your religion the next in order to drink and whore - you want respect earn it or stay at home. 7

tutone Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Oh well the Lady Boys will be busy..... According to some Muslims, anal sex is not the same as pre-marital heterosex so not subject to Sharia law. 1
Popular Post nkg Posted September 30, 2014 Popular Post Posted September 30, 2014 Brunei has a population of 400,000 - so Thailand is hoping that 5% of Brunei's population will visit every year? Yeah, right. Why not aim for 5% of China as well - that way they will get an additional 50 million tourists per year. Add India and that's 100 Million tourists from only 2 countries! 3
SPB65 Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 When they get to Patpong, Patong and Pattaya they'll be the Sultans of Swing. 2
