PATTAYA: -- On Monday Morning a 33 year old Ladyboy was arrested on Pattaya Beach Road following an alleged necklace snatch involving a Chinese Tourist on Sunday Night.

The incident occurred at approximately 8.30pm on Sunday and resulted in the theft of a gold necklace, worth an estimated 90,000 Baht, from Mr. Ze Jin aged 43. He claimed to be walking along the beach when the suspect approached and embraced Mr. Jin which distracted him enough to allow the suspect to snatch a gold necklace from Mr. Jin and flee the scene.

Police were able to locate and arrest the suspect some hours later on Pattaya Beach in front of Soi 13. Khun Mongonchai was still in possession of the necklace which was later returned to Mr. Jin at the culmination of a press conference held at Pattaya Police Station.

....it used to be that 'once caught'....especially with 'the evidence'....and 'identified by the victim or witnesses'.....it is NOT 'alleged' any longer...

why dont they stop those boys? they are huge and they wear dresses and wigs and stand in the middle of the path and grope everyone walking past, most people are upset by them but they just pretend they are gay and then go for the next tourist, every night, opposite Tahitian Queen and many other places now as well as they have realized the area is unpoliced

Blimey, 90,000 baht, quite a substantial 'necklace'......

Don't wear gold in Pattaya...

Beware of your handbag/manbag/shoulder bag being snatched by a passing motorcycle.

Avoid Beach Rd ladyboys who have a reputation for thieving.

Surely crime could be reduced by putting repeat offenders away for a few years rather than a fine and release, plus a motorcycle used in a crime should be smashed up unless it was previously reported as stolen.

Herding up the ladyboys and releasing them an hour later with a 100 baht fine just doesn't seem to deter them!

"He claimed to be walking along the beach when the suspect approached and embraced Mr. Jin which distracted him enough to allow the suspect to snatch a gold necklace from Mr. Jin and flee the scene."

That is the only reason these thieves are standing on beach road, walking street and elsewhere. As the saying goes, not all thieves are ladyboys, but all ladyboys are thieves.
