Here 'tis. I see Murray is still around, does he actually do anything useful?!

Rangers: Dave King optimistic after talks at Ibrox
By Alasdair Lamont
BBC Scotland
Dave King had a meeting at Ibrox on Tuesday and is optimistic his offer of a funding package will be accepted by Rangers.
King, in conjunction with shareholder George Letham and Paul Murray, has been in talks with the board about investing in return for a share in the club.
Rangers recently raised £3m from a share issue.
However, doubts remain over whether the Scottish Championship club have enough money to see out the season.
King did not wish to comment when contacted by BBC Scotland but told Sky he was hopeful a deal could be finalised.
Paul Murray wants a return to Ibrox along with King
On his way out of Ibrox the South Africa-based was asked if he was optimistic and replied: "Yes we are."
King was a director and an investor at Ibrox during Sir David Murray's ownership of Rangers and harbours a desire to put money into the club.
In recent weeks, Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley has increased his stake in Rangers to around 9% and has called for an extraordinary meeting of shareholders to remove chief executive Graham Wallace and director Philip Nash.
And Paul Murray, who like King previously served on the Rangers board, said last week that the pair were part of group holding discussions with Ibrox directors to provide funding.
Rangers are currently second in the Championship, nine points adrift of Hearts but with a game in hand.

I don't like a paul Murray at all. He wants the blazer with out using his own money.

It's now or a never for King that's for sure.

The deal is a £16m loan to be turned into 51% equity by current share holders

Bit of a mess and all the while Ashley is like a fat controller eating away at the shares.

There is a lot to be said for integrating the scottish top flight into the english leagues as other than the SPA the rest are at conference level......it would be good to see a couple of scottish challengers in the EPL and the money is needed by the sounds of it.

Yes or No?

Not going to happen. Anyway. That's another discussion that's been debated over and over.

Time will tell and it very easily could happen why do you think Ashley is getting involved, the FAW is doing well and swansea n cardiff are. ...The SFA will eventually need to join the FA to save Scottish footballs league from dieung.

Ashley wants this to happen.

Here we go

Whats <deleted> off topic the power struggle that is going on at Rangers is totally about rejuvenating revenue and trying to get the club back to the successful days of old...it will never happen until they join the Epl and Ashley when he eventually gains control will push for it...so if you both are stuck in your ways and so short sighted up to you...it is on topic and linked to the future. ..Expect another vote yes or no.

No it's not.

There could be some movement/clarity today.

I know there was more chat yesterday, and i am lead to believe out the 75% share holders votes King would need, he's not far off that. I'll post in here as i know more

Sky sports '.. understands today could be quit a significant day' for Rangers .

Ok, and i'm defiantly tempting fate here. The only way today could be significant is if King is accepted. If he gets rejected then it's the status quo.

I know "significant" could also mean he;s rejected, but i feel if that was the case then they would word it in such a way, as would other media outlets

Sky News now reporting that Ashley has been confirmed as the 'Main Man' at Ibrox.

His £2m loan (at preferential rates - think that Wonga is the shirt sponsor at Newcastle!!) has been accepted as the way forward to solve the immediate cash flow problems.

His old sidekick at Newcastle, Derek Llambias, is rumoured to be one possible for the two board members available to Ashley.

The position of McCoist remains uncertain - he was promoting the failed bids - and will be speaking later today.

Wonder whether good old Denis Wise will be making an appearance at some stage. Maybe even Joe Kinnearwhistling.gif

Whatever happens, this story will run and run!!

King failed. The only way he was ever getting control was buying shares. he was offered the shares Ashley bought and refused. King was backed by a fair few majorly rich people from SEA too

Did you read that they knocked back an 18m bid from some rich yanqui?

It's not that simple. He wasn't allowed to by law.

What law Franky?

Should have said clause...the clause (resolution 9) imposed by the board meaning only current shareholders can buy new shares.

He's not out the frame by a long shot. King and the three Bears have been face to face with the Easdales the last 48 hours. They will be in power by Friday or early next week. Trust me, the end game is here.

Once King and co are in there is other expat Bears with serious cash going to get involved.

I know people will wait till it's all official but I 100% Guarantee you it's all good

The good guys have roughly 60%.

If the Easdales don't play ball, meaning resign gracefully then we will call an EGM and have them booted out.

They are worried about us seeing the books, that's the moan reason. Ashley is happy with his deal with sport direct as its rock solid for 5 years, Sommers might be gone by close of play today
