There is no more red or yellow shirt movements, they are banned forever. That's why we have military control now to stop this vicious cycle. Unity and patriotism is the PM's goal, this is needed to stabilize Thailand, make it strong, ready for next years ASEAN Community.

Wow! Sounds like national socialism. No need for politics. Banned forever!

What drugs are you on?

The military are Yellow to the core and currently have the upper hand, the Reds are the numerical majority and are slowly reawakening.

Very soon one side will lose forever, mans mortality guarantees this.

Tick tock, tick tock.....

"Forty-one years ago, the student movement fought for democracy and asked for a constitution," he said. "Today, we are back to that past. There's no permanent constitution, no election, and we don't know when those things will return."

Did you ever think your red leaders and red activities might have generated the current situation?

Arnon said he organised the dinner party to insist on people's right to enjoy their lives normally under the current "stressful situation." He said his group had no intention of engaging in any political activities or protests.

Sorry, don't believe you.

"We just invited people to join us for dinner," Arnon said. "We have no demand or message for the NCPO [an acronym for the junta's National Council for Peace and Order]. We have no agenda."

Sorry, don't believe you.

Doesn't take much to get the posters backing the excisting feudal system started on their usual mantras!!coffee1.gif.pagespeed.ce.Ymlsr09gMJ.gif width=32 alt=coffee1.gif>

So tell specifically how the red leaders (thugs), the udd, their paymaster et all actually contributed to building solid democracy.

Give one example of the red thugs, the udd, their paymaster talking publically about the value of actual democracy.

One example of the same characters talking publically and with credibility about the important pillars of democracy.

One example of the same characters talking publically about the need for and the mechanisms to protect those pillars.

One example of an speech / action by the same characters to strongly encourage their followers to embrace real democracy

Proof that the red shirt democracy schools actually taught the above and without bias.

Followed by yet another mantra!! You guys make Hare Krishna look like amateurs!!whistling.gif

Is it so difficult to understand, just because you believe in 1person/1vote, doesn't automatically mean you are supporting the red?

Using the same kind of simplified "logic" should make you guys neo-fascists??coffee1.gif

The trowing of grenades, firing of guns, occupying of ministries, closing of roads, burning and looting of shops is hardly politics. We've all had enough of this, let the army do its reform then democracy will return without the violence of the past 8 years.

The throwing of grenades, firing of guns, occupying of ministries, closing of roads, burning and looting of shops is hardly politics.

All of this could only be done during the recent PDRC Yellow street protests because the military provided the firepower to prevent the police from doing their job and clearing the unruly mobs away.

No army/navy gunmen amongst the PDRC = no coup

maybe the reds did not help much to build a democracy but sure as hell a coup did the opposite. Alltho they are both thugs, the worst kind is still the army. I just pity those foreigners that should have a better understanding of puppetters governments but cheer anyway for any of the 2 sides. They are all puppets with different colors. Please don't become one too.

If I remember correctly, we had a coup 2006? Why didn't the vicious cycle stop then?

And the "unity and patroism" is celebrated by the General ordering 5 Mercedes Benz for him and closest underlings, whilst the populus are ordered to eat rice!!coffee1.gif

You're not seeing the big picture. A coup was necessary due to the real threat of civil war. And the freedom that you say has been lost, hasn't, you can express yourself freely now as you could last year. Compared to the other 9 Asian countries, Thailand is one of the most free and unrepressed countries. Freedom of rights, religion, speech, press. Remember this is south east Asia not Europe.

Any sensible sane person supports 1 person = 1 vote. It took long enough to achieve in the UK. Many WW1 soldiers fought and died without the right to vote.

However, the electoral procedures need to be robust and fair, with checks to prevent fraud in a democracy. As do the justice systems and law enforcement as in one law for all, enforced fairly without bias. And those in government need to be ethical, transparent and actually obey the law.

Long way to go.

This is how red shirts honor students

Jatuporn warns demonstrating Ramkhamhaeng students against coming to Rajamangala

November 30, 2013 1:33 pm

Red-shirt leader Jatuporn Promphan Saturday warned Ramkhamhaeng students, who gathered inside the Ramkhamaheng 1 campus, against coming to the Rajamangala Stadium.

Jatuporn said it was fine for the students to rally inside their campus but if they attempted to block red-shirt people from entering the Rajamangala Stadium, the students themselves would get hurt.

"They have their right to rally. But if they come here, the ones to get hurt will not be the ones inside the Rajamangala but the students themselves," Jatuporn said.

He said the red-shirt people used to fight against 60,000 troops and armoured carriers so they are not afraid of Ramkhamhaeng students.

Hmm, didn't the reds say they were just coming down for a rally in 2010 and would then go home?

However once they arrived they decided to occupy the centre of the city.

I could be wrong of course........

They went home after two months and that was 4 years ago. Did the recent 7 month occupation of Bangkok pass you by?

Hang on. You refer to an election nearly 4 years ago to project the PTP's popularity? So it seems that living in the past is your speciality.

Good to see the police take stern action against the infestation that the UDD epitomize. That being hate and fear.

I am surprised that EX deputy PTP PM Plodprasop did not call the red shirts garbage and threaten them with undercurrents of violence if the gathered.

What did the police do under the current government? Moved them along and DID NOT call them garbage or threaten them. It is this measured and controlled response that makes the politician and PM Preyuth the most popular PM in the last 10 years.

Unless of course you refer to an election nearly 4 years ago to judge their popularity. But we don't live in the past as my dear dear friend Fab4 has stated.

Ahhh, the Rubic's cube of TVF is back…Do we have to "solve" or "decipher" your posts again do we?

It's simple.

i am pretty sure the guy on the right is the same guy who has been arrested for reading 1984 the Orwell book

http://www.chiangmaicitynews.com/news.php?id=4103

Pretending to read.

He may well be reading 1984 in that shot but judging by his size and the fact he's at a streetside dinner, maybe he's auditioning for the role of Snowball in the next episode of Animal Farm for kids.

Hey...I feel safer already...I mean...how many countries would send in the police and military to ensure you have a nice quiet dinner?

Yawn... go back to your Yellow room, and don't let the door hit your arse on the way out. Clueless, absolutely clueless.

it's the 'denial drivel' that so often passes these pages.

first, there is the obligatory thaksin=udd and udd=thaksin. They clump everything together in one giant lump to make it easier to kick around.

second, the red shirts came out of the 2006 coup counter-reaction and have always resisted the anti-democratic movements in Thailand. To somehow try to paint them as undemocratic or as misunderstanding democracy is nonsense.

third, there have many times that the udd have spoken out against military coups and threats of military coups. But here that is not defending or protecting democracy. No speech about respecting the vote or not overthrowing an elected government is ever remembered by those in the 'Yellow Room'
