And why did you stop your run of games at Everton precisely?

You have chosen an odd number 11 games?

Obviously it looks like 11 games you will not do too bad in.

But if you believe in using statistics to 'create' or 'justify' your argument you are simply abusing them. By that I mean to how many people would it come as a surprise to that the match after which you have stop stating matches was away to City?

Because the conversation was about how crucial our match with each other may end up. I listed only the games up until and including when we meet. Depending on the results of those, the game at City could be an humdinger.

What an absolute hideous moron Rooney is. Talk about sportsmanship, this fool doesn't know anything about it.

This is what he said on twitter following other comments congratulating Zambia "zzzzzzzzzz. PGA golf is on. Come on boys. Funny that the 2 toures was there all the way and lost. ha, ha".

Apart from his terrible english, was there really any need to tweet that? Don't remember the Toures gloating about England getting knocked out of competitions. The guy really is an half wit.

Carlos Tevez has accused Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini of treating him 'like a dog' during their infamous bench bust-up at Bayern Munich back in September.

The Argentina international has not featured for City since before that night, when he refused to warm-up against Bayern in the UEFA Champions League with Mancini's men losing 2-0.

He has spent the past couple of months AWOL back in his homeland after failing to secure a January move away from the club, with his City career appearing to be over.

However, the striker is due to return to England on Tuesday and Paul McCarthy, who is an advisor to Tevez's representative Kia Joorabchian, confirmed earlier on Monday recent discussions have paved the way for him to return to Mancini's squad.

Bad moodThe forward has broken his silence on the Bayern incident ahead of returning to Etihad Stadium and has hit out at the manager's treatment of him during the row.

Tevez claims he sat back down on the bench after warming up because he believed Mancini was employing a more defensive approach after taking off striker Edin Dzeko and replacing him with holding midfielder Nigel de Jong.

"So I'd already warmed up for 10 minutes and he has this attitude that he wants to lose 2-0 instead of 4-0."I was kind of in a bad mood and when (Mancini) brings on De Jong and takes off Dzeko, and we're losing 2-0, I thought it was a defensive substitution. So I decided to sit back on the bench," he said in an interview with Fox Sportsspacer.gif in Argentina.

"So I sat down and at the same time Dzeko comes off and is really angry and has a go at Mancini. He then sees the tunnel is closed so he has to sit down next to him and they start to have an argument.

"Dzeko was speaking Bosnian and Mancini would swear at him in Italian, so it was a real mess.

Foul mood

"So I go and sit down and he doesn't see me because he's having this discussion. But then he turns around and sees me and you can imagine what happens. He's in the middle of an argument.

"So then he tells me to keep on warming up and treats me like a dog. So when he spoke to me in that tone of voice I said 'no I'm not going out'.

"So I was willing to play but the coach was in such a foul mood, because he had that argument with Dzeko, he started on me as well, started swearing at me.

"That was him, because I was very calm. I was just sitting on the bench and you could see from the footage I was calm and just talking to (Pablo) Zabaleta. Mancini said some horrible things to me."

It's certainly funny (peculiar) that the 2 Toures (plus Gervinho plus Drogba plus some other prime continental players) can't excite and wipe the floor at that tournament.

Guess they must be on half pace and avoiding getting injured for their highly lucrative European careers.

All this small-timers win the cup stuff makes for good copy for a day but it sure as hell consigns the competition to the 'can't be bothered to watch' category for next time IMO.

At first this made me chuckle. A Man U fan who owns some land on the spot where we want to develop and he states he wants to block it by selling parcels of land to Man City haters. http://www.manoramao...1029977&tabId=1

LONDON (Reuters) - A Manchester United fan aims to block rival Manchester City's "goals of football domination" by selling off thousands of parcels of a site earmarked by the world's richest club for a 100-million-pound training complex.

Businessman Shaun O'Brien has divided the land at his vehicle recovery company, OB Trucks, near City's Etihad Stadium, into 18,500 square-foot plots for sale in a bid to disrupt a proposed council order to make him sell it.

He was selling the plots for 250 pounds each through website, Unite Against the City, to "ardent Reds and anybody else that feels strongly about our David & Goliath situation," in order to make the club negotiate individually and fairly for each plot, the website said.

The sale had attracted buyers from around the world, including the United States and Spain, since the website went live on February 6, O'Brien told Reuters, declining to reveal the sales figures. "We're very close to fulfilling the 5,000 minimum."

The campaign was "to prevent Manchester City's attempts to acquire our land in Eastlands, Manchester, in order to further their goals of football domination", O'Brien wrote on the website.

Local newspaper Manchester Evening News said O'Brien had refused a one-million-pound offer from City to leave the site, stalling the club's bid to redevelop a run-down, 80-acre plot near their stadium.

O'Brien said City had offered him 200,000 pounds for the land for the past two years, though they had said they would pay another 750,000 pounds for moving and expenses.

"But it's just not enough," he said. "I've been here for 15 years, I had no intention to sell (the land)... As a business who want my land to further their business they should come and sit down, negotiate and we'll hack out a figure, whereas all along they've said we'll give you 200,000 pounds or we'll get the council to CPO you," he said.

A compulsory purchase order has now been issued by Manchester City Council and the club to try to force O'Brien to sell at market value.

However, after doing the maths. It seems he is actually trying to rip off United fans. He's trying to blame City for not negotiating but 18,500 parcels @250 quid a pop means he's going to pocket 4.625m quid from United fans for a piece of land that's worth about a mil.

To be frank, I have been very impressed with the way City have handled Tevez. They have taken a very hard line and been prepared to stick to principle rather than just get rid of him for being such a nuisance. It is slightly a shame you didnt manage to sell him to Anzhi which is probably what he deserves for his and his agents behavior.

should read....

"I am desperate to restart my footballing career again"

It will be interesting to see what Mancini does. He has always said that if he apologizes he will forgive him and let him start again. But I am not sure if I was a City supporter I would like to see him in the team. Although I guess there are some Europa matches that he might be a useful addition to the squadjerk.gif

It will be interesting to see Mancini's next steps. However, he has already pulled him out of his named European games squad but included him in the prem squad.

As for me. I honestly don't know how I feel. If he decides to play him, it will probably at our next away game at Swansea. If he bags a goal it will go a long way to part-forgiveness. I think only full forgiveness will be given if he helps us to bury Man United. But we all know that cometh the end of the season he's gone but let's be as mercenary as he and get the most out of the wages we are paying him.

I agree. get what you can out of him. If he shows his best form then that will be the edge you need to win the title. then flog him to the highest bidder.

Bojangles, quick question. It is going to sound stupid but isnt meant to be. I heard that you had only 23 players in your named squad (presumably including Tevez so he wasnt a waste.) I just wondered if that was true on the basis that if I had lots of capital I would have more to win. I think most squads had less but I was surprised by City.

Not as far as I am aware Abs. We have several out on loan and Owen Hargreaves has been given a slot which could be considered a waste I suppose. These are the players and squad numbers that I think make up the current 25.

2. Micah Richards

4. Vincent Kompany

5. Pablo Zabaleta

6. Joleon Lescott

7. James Milner

8. David Pizarro

10. Edin Dzeko

11. Adam Johnson

12. Stuart Taylor

13. Aleksandar Kolarov

16. Sergio Aguero

18. Gareth Barry

19. Samir Nasri

20. Owen Hargreaves

21. David Silva

22. Gael Clichy

25. Joe Hart

28. Kolo Toure

30. Costel Pantilimon

32. Carlos Tevez

34. Nigel De Jong

36. Denis Suarez

42. Gnegneri Toure Yaya

44. Karim Rekik

63. Eirik Holmen Johansen

Well I would be incredibly disappointed if they didnt bojangles. I cant be bothered to count either but someone told me that ONLY Tottenham had the full squad of 25 players. And I have find it very hard to believe that City did not. Even though I know nothing about football I know that if you have sufficient capital 25 is better than 24.

I don't want to sound arrogant or disrespect Blackburn but that really was a battering. At times we were treating it just like a training session. Stoppage time said it all when the crowd cheered as Joe Hart made his first save of the match !!

Pains me to say it but i was having a chat with a mate yesterday and i said that even if spurs won every game between now and the end of the season (which ofcourse we won't) we still wouldn't win the league.

Suffice to say i just can't see where City will slip up.

The good thing about the Prem Carms, is that there are always surprises. I can't see us going all the way and winning every game. We've still got Chelsea and United at home and Arsenal away but just as dangerous towards the end of a season are the teams fighting relegation.

Fair enough but if you beat Utd at Eithad i think a draw at arse and Chelsea will be good enough. And then theres the possibility of us beating Utd next weekend. Even draw now is not good enough for them.

You'll notice that i still don't feel we are even contenders yet.

From what I've seen of you this season youré playing some really nice football, I think it's just a bit more depth you need. You seem to suffer when a couple of key players are missing. But then again, don't we all.

You're right there. We are really affected by the absense of Huddlestone. He's the only form of cover we have if Modric is out. also whilst we have right back cover in Corluka Harrys loaned him out so if Walkers injured were stuffed. I don't want Kaboul anywhere other than center back.

We also need another striker, Give me Eden Hazard and Leandro Damiao or Loic Remy and i'd be very happy! Now thats a pleasant fiction!

Funny you should say that Red

Tevez making low-key City return

Carlos Tevez is set to pull on a Manchester City jersey for the first time in five months on Tuesday in a reserve game against Preston.

The game was to have been held at nearby non-league side Chorley FC on Wednesday but instead has been brought forward a day and will be held behind closed doors at City's Carrington training ground as Tevez returns having last week apologised "sincerely and unreservedly" for his recent conduct.

The Argentine spent more than three months in his homeland after City manager Robert Mancini vowed he would never again feature having allegedly refused to come on as sub in a Champions League tie against Bayern Munich at the end of September.

Having said sorry to City staff he will use the reserve outing to work on his fitness without the media present. His first team return is likely to be away to Swansea on March 10 as City - two points clear of United with 12 games remaining - step up their attempts to win the Premier League crown.

Until then Mancini is set to keep faith with in-form attacking trident Sergio Aguero, Mario Balotelli and Edin Dzeko, who have hit 39 goals between them to date and all scored in the 3-0 home win over Blackburn.

City coach David Platt told the Manchester Evening News having Tevez back would comprise healthy competition for his fellow forwards.

"When we've everybody healthy there are people going in the stand that could get into most teams in the Premier League, and we have a rotation of the squad. "As and when Carlos is back, he'll add another number to that," Platt said.

We've played a lot better than that but I'll happily take the points. I think Nasri is going to have to take a long hard look at himself. Pizzaro was pretty impressive and Mario was unlucky not get more than just the one.

Come on you Spurs. Do us a favour will ya.

Hallo Citizens fans,

same as United the Citizens fans saw a loss of their squad in this round of the UEFA Europa League. Manchester City lost 0:1 against Portugese Sporting Lisbon and will have to work hard in the return leg to reach the next round.

Good luck to Manchester City.

I can't imagine that the Europa League is high on Mancini's priorities but I'm sure City'll cruise past them in the return leg.

Nasri hit the high spots for Arsenal in the first half of last season, but faded in the second - I don't know what happened to him but he clearly hasn't got back to the form he showed he is capable of. He played off Fabregas a lot but then Silva is a good creative midfielder too so it should be working for him. Perhaps Wenger knew something we all didn't when he sold him. Still young, I'm sure he'll come good but Mancini must be losing patience with him.

Don't get me wrong, I really detest Hoodies. But this policy is a tad strange. I have seen many Muslim women in the Trafford Centre with head coverings. What is the difference? It's also funny how they say " dispute" but then go onto say he was asked to leave, he was very polite and friendly and left. Where is the dispute?

Mario Balotelli in Trafford Centre hoodie dispute

Footballer Mario Balotelli was asked to leave Manchester's Trafford Centre after refusing to pull down the hood of his top, staff have confirmed.Manchester City's Italian striker was approached by security staff on Monday and told he would be ejected if he did not remove his hood. Balotelli, 21, who was out shopping with a friend, decided he would prefer to leave rather than remove it.

The shopping centre said it asked all customers to remove hoods. A Trafford Centre spokesperson said: "At 21:02 GMT a customer was approached by security staff and advised that wearing a hooded top covering the head is against centre policy. "The customer was Italian and native Italian-speaking staff were dispatched to converse with the customer."

It is understood the striker is a regular visitor to the shopping centre and wanted to keep his hood up to avoid drawing attention from supporters.

Balotelli was said to have been polite and friendly throughout the encounter and shook hands with staff before leaving.

The Trafford Centre said its policy of asking customers to remove hoods enabled security staff to recognise known criminals and track their movements on CCTV

i don't really understand the great interest in Ballotelli anyway. By his own admittance 90% of the fun stories about him and his handing cash to strangers is made up rubbish. To me he's just another dull uninspiring young footballer being paid obscene amounts of money who likes to smack his studs down on another players face when he doesn't like being dispossesed by a good hard legitimate tackle. Other than that he comes across as a complete and utter kn*b.

Looking forward to the match tonight. It has the makings of a watchable game. Not an easy one either as we found out.
