Body of missing Japanese man found off Bang Na-Trat Road
The Nation

BANGKOK: -- THE BODY of an elderly Japanese man who was reported missing recently was found yesterday evening in an overgrown area near the Assumption University Suvarnabhumi campus off Bang Na-Trat Road in Samut Prakan province.

The late man's Thai wife Phornchanok Chaiyapa and her cabbie boyfriend were taken to the site, near the 25km marker on Bang Na-Trat, by police, who hoped it would encourage them to confess. Neither of the suspects had been charged earlier despite police believing that they had a hand in the disappearance of Yoshinori Tetsuo, 79.

Earlier, a police source said surveillance camera footage obtained from the apartment building whereTetsuo resided, showed Phornchanok and her boyfriend Somchai carrying a large suitcase into the apartment. This was before the Japanese language tutor went missing earlier this month.

Huai Khwang police in Bangkok and officers based in Samut Prakan are now jointly investigating the case, with Samut Prakan officers yesterday visiting several locations near two houses - one of which belongs to Phornchanok, 47 - and two hospitals to look for clues.

Police to look into death of first husband

Investigators have also started looking into the death of Kasitosi Tanaka, who was also married to Phornchanok and allegedly died from a fall down the staircase 11 years ago.

The death happened not long after he married Phornchanok, though Bang Phli police recorded that the death had resulted from an accident, which was backed by public |prosecutors, deputy Samut Prakan police chief Pol Colonel Yongyuth Techarat said.

Prior to the discovery of Tetsuo's body, he said this case would be reopened if there is any new evidence - either through police discovery or via a statement by Phornchanok - indicating that Tanaka's death was an act of murder.

Phornchanok and Somchai were detained at a military facility in Bangkok, and police say the suspects insisted during the three-hour-long interrogation that they did not know where Tetsuo was.

Another source said detectives had learned from further questioning Phornchanok that she had taken her husband to hospital recently and that they had had a fight near On Nut BTS station.

Both Phornchanok and Somchai are being detained under martial law for an initial seven days, though neither has been charged with any offence.

Police, meanwhile, will continue gathering more details, the source said.

Ruengsak said later that Tetsuo's current status was regarded as missing, and that written requests had been forwarded to government agencies or hospitals asking them to report the discovery of bodies or deaths of foreign men between September 21 and October 14.

He said later that Pol Maj-General Phongphan Wannaphak, acting commander of the Metropolitan Police Division 1, had been appointed as chief investigator for the case.

At a later stage, public prosecutors could be possibly invited to take part as advisers, he added.

Very sad that this very trusting man would end up like this. sad.png

But, please, the govt can continue going after falangs who defraud Thais, not the other way around. Not economically feasible!! w00t.gif

This story is quite sad, but it will fade with time. Because the police are doing their job correctly.

People understand that bad things happen. They want those bad things to not happen again.

Tragedy for the family.

Any Burmese within a 100 klm's had better run or it's off too the safe house and plastic bags over your heads for you...

Somchai the husband admitted to killing, then cutting up the body before throwing it in the canal. The reason, you guess it, " we needed the deceased's money ". The female suspect is still denying any involvement.

Barbaric and disgusting. Reminds me of the farang that ended up on the barbecue a few years back. Some of these people are just animals. They should have their arms removed and be dumped in the jungle with their kin!

he dismembered him

put the body parts in a plastic bag

and dumped the bag into a klong

RIP, Sensei

.

This is confusing. The taxi driver is a boyfriend or husband? The Japanese man was the husband or 'boyfriend'?

the victim (RIP) was a Japanese tutor, not a Sensei, (teacher, master, doctor).

I hope the guilty get a very large helping of karma, money motivates some people to no end.

Greed has no bounds.

We take whats real and destroy it for something that isnt.

Love the value that (some/all/most) Thai's put on a human life, i.e. zero.

If there is even a small amount of money involved (and often there doesn't even need to be that), your life is worth nothing here.

I hope the Black Widow (and her husband/bf/brother or whatever he is) gets all that is coming to them.

It's only going to get exponentially worse; not better.

We truly are in the last days. Wake up expats!!!

Considering the huge number of 'accidental deaths' here, particularly the old fell off a balcony routine, you would think embassies would try to investigate some of the thousands (it must be in the thousands as the UK had over 350 dead last year (up 31% on the previous year) and the Aussies had well over 100) of deaths here each year.

May those two pieces of human garbage rot in hell!!

Kudos to the Thai Police (!!) for solving the case quickly!!

And a reminder, be careful when introduced to your Thai darlings "brother"whistling.gif

They might just look into balcony design?

Real truth to expats death in LOS were hidden for decades.

Natural forces are revealing them. Expats watch out!

It's only going to get exponentially worse; not better.

Can you expand on that.

Imm confused. Was he cut up and thrown in the klong or was his body found on wasteland near a university?

This is confusing. The taxi driver is a boyfriend or husband? The Japanese man was the husband or 'boyfriend'?

Not confusing at all ....... This clearly falls within the category of "Thainess" !

Time for Newspeak: replace 'Thainess' with 'exaggerated greed'

Tragedy for the family.

Any Burmese within a 100 klm's had better run or it's off too the safe house and plastic bags over your heads for you...

A really stupid comment considering that they've got the culprits already

Its blatantly obvious that the Thais are spooked in regards to shoving Farang murders under the carpet rather than the usual - suicide shit we're used to. The recent Koh Tao heinous crimes have sent a strong message to Thailand - No more BS in respect of evaluating Farang Deaths !!!!!

Very sad

She chopped him up into pieces

then used his ATM Card to Withdrawal ฿700K

Watch your back people.
