hello guys, i will be going to Maesai from bangkok next week and i wish to know how to get a bus frmo Bangkok to Maesai ?

How long would the journey be and how much does it cost?

do we need to buy a advance ticket or just pop down and get a ticket ?

what are the bus time intervals as well ??

Just go to Morchit northen bus station and book Bangkok-Chiang Rai-Mae Sai. Need not book in advance during off season, bus depart hourly every evening to Mae Sai.

It takes about 14 hours.

If no bus to Mae Sai, get a Chiang Rai bus. There is a bus every 15 minutes from CR to Mae Sai.

I definitely would look at flying AirAsia to Chiang Rai (around 1500 THB) then a bus or song thaeow or whatever to Mae Sai. You're looking at a 14 hr bus ride, probably 600 THB anyway, 900 VIP. , but just a debilitating bus ride, IMO. I'm a relatively durable traveler, but those long bus rides really take it out of me.
