Annual Vehicle Sticker Renewal - Phuket

Recommended Posts

Posted

I have only found a thread from 2011 on this. Or I don't know how to 'search" tvf.

Looking for current requirements for renewing the annual vehicle sticker please. (Not a bike).

From memory...

The Blue Book

Passport

Current Insurance docs with the mandatory govt ins paid.

About 6000k+ baht.

Is that it? OR Is a Residence Certificate from Immigration also reqd?

My address has changed also. I do have a Lease.

Q2.

My vehicle is now 5 years old. Do I need to get a "Roadworthiness" test done also? OR is that after the vehicle is 7 years old?

Thanks

You only need the vehicle blue book (car), the tear-off slip from the compulsory insurance policy, and a test certificate if car is 7 years or more old.

Cost - variable, sliding scale (down) as the car gets older.

Passport and Cert Of Residence not required. Just the blue book is good enough.

as ur heading to the dept on the right hand side before the light are 2 shops that do the inspection and give you insurance while you wait if ur car is over 6 years old

Under 6 years its very quick and easy,

i did my bike registration there last week and than got the sticker in under 30 minutes

Thanks all. Very easy process. Interestingly I looked in the back of the blue book. I have paid the identical amount on road tax every year for 4 years. This is the first time (the vehicle is now 5 years old) the amount decreased.

Phuketrichard...

What does this mean in your post? "2 shops that do the inspection and give you insurance while you wait if ur car is over 6 years old".

Do you mean...they do the inspection and do the Road Tax sticker process, i.e. eliminating a visit to the DMV? I don't understand the "give you insurance" bit.

No The shops will perform the car inspection and give you the test certificate which you will need to pay your tax.

BTW the car book is not required to pay the road tax as long you have the insurance slip.

The book can be back stamped on your next year visit.
