Governor: New garbage facility in Prachuap Khiri Khan to have modern system

Prachuap Khiri Khan, 12 November 2014 (NNT) – A new garbage facility in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province will be constructed with modern waste management systems, the governor has informed the community.

The Governor of Prachuap Khiri Khan Wira Siwatthanatrakun said that the province is looking for a new location to construct the garbage facility as the existing one has been closed due to water contamination.

He said that the new garbage facility will be equipped with a a waste management system that is environmentally friendly.

The governor is to inspect the operational drills of the garbage management system at the Kasetsart University, Kamphaeng Sean Campus as a model for the new garbage facility.

He also mentioned that the province will educate the public in the waste segregation process by assigning lecturers to show people in the villages and communities how the waste segregation process can generate income, and how to make fertilizers from organic waste.

I'm no expert on waste management systems but it's no secret that Thailand (and the rest of the world) need to keep moving forward with improvements as best as possible

too bad thailand does not have a volcano ... they could dump everything in there, time to build one ?

Will the Governor cleanup the existing site for contaminated water? Affected water could be the water table in which case any wells using it will endanger the health of all who use the water. Seems the move to a new location may be intended simply to avoid cleaning the existing site.
