so has anyone been there and done it, what did you think ? anyone know how to get there by public bus or songthaew from say tha phae gate or chiang mai gate? or somewhere in that vicinity or from a bus station which bus and bus station?

there is/was also a spirulina operation in lampang any info on that one would be nice too

There's also an algae for sale in several of the local markets that supposed to be superior to spirulina in whatever benefits spirulina is supposed to confer. It looks like just what you'd expect algae to look like.

it looks an interesting day out, I used to take Spirullina years ago and it did clear up a skin condition I had...

you can get to Mae Wang by yellow songtaeu from Chiang Mai gate, costs about 35 baht one way and takes about 1-1.5 hrs to get there

or you can hire a scooter for the day...

And it is grown in ponds exposed to the fallout of heavy ait pollution. What heavy metals might it contain?
