I have a new motorbike all in my name insurance etc.. If someone else drives my bike are they covered. My question is really Is the insurance for the bike or me alone.

Not sure with bikes, but for a car it is all drivers by default,

unless you have negoitiated a discount for owner only.

Named drivers is a new concept in Thailand.

My motorbike insurance only covers me, not the bike or anyone else . If the wife had an accident riding it she'd have to pay - or I would :o

Geoff that’s very interesting I have been riding bikes in Thailand for many years and I always thought that it was the bike not the rider that was insured, I will have to dig out the insurance paperwork and get my wife to translate it for me.

  • 1 month later...

info needed

When I bought the bike I was told it was covered by insurance for 3rd party damage and theft

So that leaves me to get insured

I have hospital and health cover but most have a pay only 50% for bike accidnet clause

so what insurnace do i need??
