Short-trip Travel Insurance:

Featured Replies

Where is the best place to obtain short-trip overseas travel insurance in Pattaya? Does anyone have advice on this. ie. less than 14 days trip (to and from Thailand).

Would the best path to take be visit a travel agent, or direct to an insurance company? Is an ex-pat resident in Thailand able to obtain annual travel insurance?

All advice appreciated.

For comprehensive travel insurance try the Bangok Insurance Company (Company owned by Bangkok Bank). The office is in Naklua on Pattaya-Naklua Road. Heading north, it's on the left hand side not too far from the traffic lights at the junction with Soi Sawang Fa. For medical insurance only, try BUPA.

An ex-pat is able to obtain short-trip travel and health insurance in Thailand for travel outside of Thailand but I'm not sure about annual insurance for overseas travel...I don't see why not though.

I would never buy travel insurance from a travel agency. They are renowned the world over for inflating the cost in very high multiples - even in the Uk where there is strict regulation in place so God's knows what they would do here, with little regulation.

You could do worse than call Kees Peperkamp, Surin Insurance - agents for AIG. He is straight as a die and AIG insurance, if they do travel insurance here, will be the best and most comprehensive you will find. His number is Mobile: 016508408, office : 038 300784. His office is off Theprasit Road in Jomtien - near the Harley pub.
