Done a search of TV and couldn't find this posted, so thought i'd share

I liked it, hope others do too, please enjoy.

The pace of life was a lot slower in those days. A fascinating reminder of the way we were.

nice to know animal cruelty has remaind unchanged, anybody else see the wound on the elephants neck?

lovely

Is that a parking meter at 2.09 what happened to them?

  • 1 year later...

I was in Bangkok 1971,44+1/2 years ago.As I remember it there were A lot of cars on the streets but not near as many as there are now.I have seen photos where I believe they were British planes bombing Bangkok during WW11.

I was in Thailand 45 years ago around the Takhli and Korat area and it was nothing like today. Loved it then and love it today.

The parking meters went the same ways as everything else, good idea at the time, but once they need maintenance, thats the end.

GF and I loved this video. Nice to see parking meters were abolished since it's filming. Something I always hated about my country.

Some things never change though. Thai girls are still experts at polishing precious jewels.

This is propaganda!!! English-speaking narrative????!!!!

I was there......soi 8.........it was very, very hard.....any video with only one-side shown is incomplete....

i think pepsi sponsored this video......

our weak minds only want to think everything was good.....great......perfect....

it was not!!!!!

Just curious, what is going on these days in Takhli?

Thank you for posting this video,

Not sure about the quality control on the medicine bottling process.

Very interesting.

Spent a lot of time there in the 70's. A much nicer place then, when there was "Thainess".

The food looks like it is being served to the Royal Family by Phillippinas.

Great films, thanks for the effort! thumbsup.gifclap2.gifclap2.gifwai.gif

Cool video..thanks for posting. Some sweet old VWs in this!

VW's were never sweet , discombobulated cheapo sheet metal death traps they were .

please tell us what you have done to advance and enhance the poor packy's life .....

fantastic! I live here 30 years now and it was not very different as in your movie when I arrived. But... I still love Bangkok

I was there just over 40 years ago, no MacDonalds, tallest building in Thailand was the Dusit Thani. Patpong was very quiet and there were old villages off Sukhumvit, about soi 24 area.

Me too.

An American mustang that was shot down was found in a field in Pathum Thani about 3 years ago.

The remains are at the fantastic Don Muang Airport Air Base Museum - Free of Charge, btw.

I read up on the history of it then, bombing Don Muang iirc, the pilot bailed and lived, died not long ago. I think someone got in touch with his relatives about his plane being found.

Love old historical documentaries. Remind me of time passing in one direction only.

They were doomed to fail, as they couldn't install them in the middle of the roads.
