Life after GMM Gold package...Should I go for IPTV Thailand?

Featured Replies

In the very near future I will be coming to the end of my GMM Gold package which came with my GMM HD Box.

It's been a good deal. It has the GMM football channels, which cover some UK Championship and German Bundesliga matches to satisfy my football viewing, and some UK Super League Rugby League . It has Eurosport which was covering cycling, such as The Toure de France, during the summer.(Although their rights to Eurosport expires from January next year.) And also has the Nat geo Wild and people, and the National Geographic channel, and Warner TV and Crime

All in all, a good package

Their new package structure, however, is a complete mess.

The Sport Mania package has the GMM football channels, but excludes the Fox Sport channels, which are included in the Hollywood Plus package.

The National geographic channels are spread throughout the four packages.

To get Warner TV you have to buy the Movies Lover package, which duplicates many of the channels in the Sport and Movie packages.

(I will watch UK Premiership football in the evening, but am not so addicted that I will get up 3am in the morning.)

So, what do I do when my Gold package expires?

GMM...Which packages do I buy?

XMBC... After several hours of trying, I succeeded in getting its Live TV to work (I think it has an inbuilt attempt counter that only lets you run it after you have tried so long).

However, some channels work and some channels do not work or buffer repeatedly so as to be unwatchable.

It is computer based, and I find long periods watching the computer screen is tiring on my eyes.

True Visions...They are expensive and don't carry many of the channels I want.

IPTV...One option I am considering is IPTV Thailand. ( http://www.iptv-thailand.com/index.html )

They have a Super English TV 12 month subscription package for 12,500 THB, inc receiver, with 8,000 THB annual renewal.

This does look to have an impressive list of channels available. The video demo also looks impressive.

IPTV Thailand looks like my preferred option, but I would like to hear from people who have subscribed to this system, please.

XBMC also runs on Android so you can watch it on TV.

Also check out ilikeHD which runs on PC or Android TV which should fullfill a lot of your sports wishes. You can test it out for a little as 30 THB outlay all up for two hours.

You can buy the Gold package for 1,999 BHT for one year, however it isn't the same package as last year. There are non of the GMM sports channels included, you have to pay a further 1,999 BHT to get them.

This is my complaint about GMM. They have organised their packages for maximum income and not for customer convenience.
