webfact Posted January 6, 2015 Share Posted January 6, 2015 Buriram pawnshop business bustling after New Year celebrationsBURIRAM: -- Pawnshop business is doing well now in Buriram when a large number of people were seen pawning their things after the New Year festival yesterday.Buriram municipal pawnshop opened business yesterday after several days of closure with large number of visitors coming to pawn their gold ornaments, electrical equipment and silk clothes.Pawnshop assistant manager Prasert Sankam said that influx of customers was anticipated after the New Year celebrations and the pawnshop administration has reserved about 100 million baht in cash to lend to customers.He said most customers said they wanted cash to pay for household expenditures.He said the shop has a daily money circulation of 10 million baht.Normal business day would see about 200-300 visitors but only yesterday that the number of visitors rising to over 1,000, he said.But that was no it a problem as the shop has enough cash reserves for all visitors, he assured.Meanwhile in Yasothorn province, pawnbrokers also reported good business yesterday with a large numbers of customers visiting for cash.This also prompted a municipal pawnshop to double cash reserve to 20 million baht a day from 10 million baht earlier.Source: http://englishnews.thaipbs.or.th/buriram-pawnshop-business-bustling-new-year-celebrations -- Thai PBS 2015-01-06 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
