January 6, 201511 yr I am looking for a puppy of a medium-sized breed: shepherd, retriever, spaniel. lab.... must be trainable how does one go about this in LOS? what hazards are there?
January 6, 201511 yr Look for a specific breeder of your choice..we got 2 of our golden retrievers from a breeder north of Chiang Rai and another from one in Chiang Mai - not as good.. That said we got our cat from a resue center and he's fantastic so don't rule out recue centers or foundations - they can make great pets...how great really depends upon you and less so the dog especially if a puppy..
January 6, 201511 yr Popular Post My 3 dogs were originally soi dogs that I found as puppies just wandering about as strays in the area. 2 males and 1 female. When i first found them the puppies were literally skin and bone, infested with worms, mange, mites and fleas It took 6 months and incurred a lot of expense to restore these dogs to perfect health, one almost died but somehow given a lot of love and attention it pulled through. Now 10 years later and all doing fine. They are considered as part of our family with full access inside the house and never let outside the boundaries of the land, although do have a lot of space here. There is no need to purchase dogs in Thailand, there are many unwanted puppies and dogs desperate for homes. Another very important point is that a dog is for life. No one should consider owning dogs or cats unless the owners future is secure here, meaning will be in Thailand for at least the next 15 years, the lifetime of the dog.

January 7, 201511 yr Popular Post Yes, please don't buy a dog. Care for Dogs and other places have a lot of dogs that need homes.
January 7, 201511 yr must be trainable All dogs are 'trainable' you just have to do it properly with a delicate mix of love and firmness. There are loads of good vids online, but please never use physical violence towards your dog or I'll be round to batter you....
January 7, 201511 yr In a land where paying a ton of bhat to save water buffalo from the slaughterhouse can earn you considerable merit adopting and taking care of a stray puppy or dog must certainly be worth some credit in this and any future life.
