Not bothered as long as I can actually download some stuff....why do you know somewhere that charges and has a decent connection?

Don’t know what “fast” means but you can get pretty cheap data plans, fast enough for things like skype.

Some of the internet cafes have fast connections. I was paying 10 thb for 50 minutes the other day in CR, and tested it at 38 Mbps down and 8 up. I tested one on Suthep at over 30, near CMU...10 thb per hour. Maybe try Buddy Internet, over across from KSK....
