thai license lost

Featured Replies

anyone might know what needs to be done to get your five year thai license replaced? from loosing it.

First step would be to file a police report at the station closest to where you think you lost it.

Armed with the report go to the Transport Office and ask for a replacement.

I have no idea if you need another certificate of residence from Immigration (a WP will do) but no doubt you will need copies of your passport.

The police report will cost you 20 baht and everything will be in Thai. I would suggest that you take your wife/girlfriend or good Thai friend along with you to the police station.

I reckon you will need a proof of residence form from immigration also

To replace your licence you will need a copy of all the documentation that you supplied before and if you lost a motorbike licence as well you will need 2 copies of everything. The cost IIRC from last year is about 200 baht per licence.

police report- no charge

i think it was 105 baht at front desk. then 100 baht for photo taking. was charged 110 baht when receipt says 100 baht. as leaving i asked the older lady with glasses ( i remember her from a long time ago giving me the written test and driving test) with out hesitation she said then 10 baht was for the plastic sleave and that i could return the sleeve for the ten baht.
