Hi there.

Last weekend I ended up in the Underground Club (in the alley connecting Sukumvit Soi 5 and 7) at about 2.30am and there was a DJ playing in there that was superb.

Does anyone know who he is and what type of genre of music he plays?

Many thanks

hello tourleadersi , unfortunately i can not help with your request, but i hope ur question will attract people who can help me with mine :-), so i hope u don t mind adding my request to the topic u started..

End of september i come over to BKK, taking up courses to get my Thai (traditional!!!) massage skills to the next level.. Besides that, i have also been into dj-ing all of my life.. So i wonder if there are places around in Bkk where i could apply to go play a dj set while i m around.. I ve been to Thailand 2 times before, but stayed over on the country side ...So, i havent seen Bangkoks night/club life yet... No idea what is going on in local music scene, if dj's are good, if promotors invite farang dj's...So, would be great if u guys could help me find out!!! Btw, i m kinda specialised in (quality) phunky, - disco - deep- latin- and afro house ... I personaly like the Thai kind of breakbeat house, based on the morlum ridms and high pitched voices on top, where do they play that music in Bkk??

Greetings from Belgium!!

He he he.....

I have regular party at my condo.

The question is not what you play but how you play.

I have been a DJ for more then 20 years, even was chosen as Nr 2 Dj of my homecountry at some time.

Played in clubs throughout the globe and many times people told me I make them crazy and asked me to slow down as they became too excited.

I see many DJ's now they just play their set that they prepared back home. Yep beat matches but there is no story if you know what I mean.

You have to look at the crowd, what they react on, what kind of music get them dancing and from there you start to tease them, getting them ready for the big O.

You have been there so you should be able to tell us.

I was gonna say the same thing "exactly"

Maybe he wasn't really there (not all there anyway) "I was stoned and I missed it" :o

or perhaps he just isn't that into the scene and heard something he liked. not every one knows the difference between house prog trance and techno. once you start using sub genres it is all arbitrary really.
