CBR?

Featured Replies

Is "CBR" an initialism denoting something?

I think about these things when riding.

CBR150R?

I know 'RR' means 'race replica.'

And PCX?

Vietnam makes the Wave100 carbies designated NCX.

Pundits....

Plastic C**p Xposed

Perfect City X-over

Honda has never set forth the rationale.

It is a confusing soup of letter though isn't it? For instance, why one year was it VFR and the next it was RVF?

Here's the ones I know about. I'm sure there's others also...

You guys are just making this stuff up, right?

See...in the soup I forgot about NSR, RVF, RCV, VFR, VF, LS....

Papa - we never do this !!

Don't forget ...

Calm down Seedy.

I find it funny.

And I love Honda bikes.

In addition the factory name is often different from the name under which the bike is sold under. E.g. My old Kawasaki GPZ 500 in the UK became an EX 500 in the log book.

Is that referring to frame configuration?

What about the secondary codes used by Honda like : MC 19 / MC 22 / MC 28 / KW 6 / NC 23 / NC 35 etc etc

What about a MC 22 CBR2500RR huh.png

I'll like when a bike has a name: Ninja,Panigale, Katana, Nighthawk, Interceptor, Balckbird Mach, Goldwing, Jota to name a few, sounds better then those abreviations.

Kawasaki also does that. EX250 Ninja 250R. They also append the year suffix for at least the ER-6 line.

Actually CBR = Cross Beam Racer

Some guy online disputes this!

He says Honda says: CBR is short for CITY BIKE RACING.

I think I'll go race mine around the city for a while.

See ya....

But CBR150R?

The second R?

Redundantly repetative?

City Bike Racing is the widely accepted version. The second R is replica usually used for the more higher spec street racing bikes in that range....mostly as Honda is not exactly consistent about it.

Where are you going to race it ?:)) Sunday is good time to find more deserted streets.

CBR -Certainly (the) Better Ride or Certainly the Best Ride
