Can entry stamp be for 60 days instead of 90 if I ask them kindly?

Featured Replies

Do you know if it's possible to ask the stamping officer at land border to permit me to stay for less than the regular number of days? In my case, 60 instead of 90 days.

I'm on a non-O one year visa, and wish to apply for one year extension of stay after my next border run. However, it's inconvenient for me to wait for two months after that border run and I'd like to make application sooner.

Thanks.

You could ask but I doubt they will do it.

At some immigration offices you can apply up to 45 days early.

If you are married to a Thai you could apply for a 60 day extension instead of getting the new entry. Then do your one year extension.

Just in case anyone ever needs the answer to this - no, it was not possible to get 60 days instead of 90. It was in Ranong. I asked politely, she politely said it was not possible and she seemed quite confident about it.
