Norwegian teenage sensation signs a 6 year contract with Real Madrid

As a Norwegian I heard about this kid last April , at the age of 15 when he made his debut in the Norwegian premier league. If anyone had told me he would sign for Real Madrid 10 months later I would have never believed it. But after watching him outplay his much older opponents in the league last year , suddenly the biggest clubs in the world been chasing this kid. After a tour around Europe , visiting clubs like Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Man City, Liverpool and Chelsea , he made up his mind after training with Real Madrid and a chat with Christiano Ronaldo. His dream will come true but was it the right decision ? He need time to get into the first team , thats for sure. It looks more likely he will be playing for Castilla, Real Madrids B-team for a while.

Yes Smokes - he may be a teenage sensation* at football but he's pretty crass in other life skills. How many Real stars have been brought into their team from the creche?

He would have been better advised to have chosen Southampton!

Must be at least 100 of those around. Just my one club signs one a year and 50% of them end up somewhere like Barnsleylaugh.png

I'd like to see rules prohibiting these kids from going abroad so young unless its a couple of months a year.

That said Andy Murray did OK hehe.....

I agree , it's crazy and Real will pay him 2 million euro the first year , that's a lot of money for a young boy. Well Real can afford it , but I'm sure they expect something back from him within 2-3 years

Perfectly positioned to be poached by a Premier League club due to the difference in age at which he can be offered a professional (i.e. lucrative) contract.....

being a 'prodigy' at 15 , dont mean ure gonna be one at 19!!!!, saying that IMO its probably better to be stepping up early rather than latter, but that obviously is open for debate, and please dont bother giving me a list of late developers or visa versa.. but hey cant blame the kid,, even if he don't go on and play 4 the 1 st team this contract/ money will probably change his and his families life for ever !!!!

He's been advised to go where the big money is, quite correctly in my view !

He's a big Liverpool fan, so it's interesting that he's gone to RM instead. The BBC says rumour has it that his dad ( a former player & now a coach) will get a coaching job at RM's academy. Could be loaned out to a lesser club, possibly in the Championship, to toughen him up. Mmmmm. rolleyes.gif I wonder. Any Championship clubs with links with RM? Campo, Hierro, Alonso (Michael, that is) and that left back who ended up on loan at Sunderland from Fiorentina (whose name escapes me).
